Innovating the in-depth emulation movement in grassroots trade unions

According to MSc. Duong Thi Tuyen - President of Can Tho University Trade Union (VNU), VNU currently has more than 1,900 civil servants, employees and more than 44,000 students and trainees. The University of Economics and Technology Trade Union has 39 affiliated departmental trade unions with multiple sectors and fields. Therefore, the VNU-Trade Union determines that emulation movements, in addition to general activities, need to have separate activities for each group of subjects.

In recent times, the VNU-HCM Trade Union has organized emulation movements and campaigns such as "Patriot emulation movement, welcoming the 12th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union, celebrating the 70th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's appeal for patriotic emulation among civil servants and employees of Can Tho University"; "Each teacher is an example of ethics, self-study and creativity"; "The beauty of the Trade Union and workers", "Can Tho University through perspectives", "Wearing the ao dai"...

In addition, sports activities and health care are always important highlights in trade union work at the University. In addition to the traditional sports festival and sports walking competition to celebrate November 20, the University of Science and Technology Trade Union also organizes many thematic tournaments such as: "veteran Football", "Voc volleyball", "Iron award", "Pickleball award" along with physical training classes, health care combined with traditional and modern medicine...

Along with the school's leaders in professional work, the VNU-Trade Union has organized many activities to support teaching and scientific research, typically: topic "Improving the ability to write international scientific articles" shared by Dr. Naoki Tojo (Japan). Organize many training courses to help lecturers adapt to online teaching; organize a workshop on " application of 4.0 technology in building happy schools" ...

The Executive Committee of the VNU-Trade Union constantly innovates to excellently complete the tasks right from the beginning of each term. In particular, the Trade Union President is willing to explain, share, boldly change and take responsibility before the leaders and the collective. Thanks to the changes and the effectiveness that trade union activities have brought, it has received the support and active participation of school leaders and union members in activities launched by the union.

Emulation movements and campaigns organized systematically and regularly have aroused the sense of responsibility, enthusiasm and desire to contribute of VCNLD. The competitive atmosphere becomes a motivation for each individual to strive to complete their tasks well. Innovation in organizational work helps the movement not to be separated but to be associated with the task of training, teaching, and scientific research, thereby, teachers and staff both participate in the movement and develop professional capacity to contribute to enhancing the position of the University of Technology, Ms. Duong Thi Tuyen shared.
