Dong Thap workers unite to build a cultural life
Dong Thap - To spread the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life", the Provincial Federation of Labor has implemented many practical activities among union members.
Civilized office culture, businesses
First of all, as a member of the Steering Committee of the Provincial "All people unite to build a cultural life" movement, the Dong Thap Labor Federation (LDLD) identified this as one of the key tasks in the work of propaganda and mobilization of union members and workers.
From Coordination Program No. 1376/CTPH-BVHTTDL-MTTW, the Provincial Federation of Labor signed Plan No. 3091/KHPH-SVHTTDL-LDLD dated December 21, 2021 with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to build cultural life and improve the effectiveness of physical exercise activities in the period of 2021-2026. The activities are implemented in conjunction with major movements of the trade union organization such as: "Building agencies, units, and enterprises that meet cultural standards", "Green - clean - beautiful, ensuring occupational safety and hygiene", "Family of exemplary workers, civil servants, and laborers", "All people unite to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas".
Over the past 5 years, trade unions at all levels have organized more than 2,800 propaganda sessions, seminars, and conferences with the participation of more than 180,000 union members and workers. The content of the propaganda is rich and modern, thereby significantly raising the awareness of union members and workers about building cultural life.
The Provincial Federation of Labor also coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize 22 training courses, competitions, foster skills in family work and build a cultural life for nearly 3,500 union officials.
A typical example is the Trade Union Institution and Social Housing Project in My Tho Industrial Park and Trung An Industrial Cluster, invested by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. The project has a total capital of 449 billion VND, with a scale of more than 500 apartments, sports areas, cultural houses, and community centers. When completed, the project will provide accommodation for about 8,500 workers, contributing to improving the material and spiritual life of workers.
The model of Self-managed workers' dormitories is widely deployed, currently there are 91 areas with more than 8,200 workers participating, forming 63 mediation teams and 28 teams of self-managed workers on security and order.
Many humane programs are maintained, such as: "Happy Bus", " Pregnant Women and Raising Children" club, "After work Hours" game show, "Workers' Year No" model, "Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space among union members and workers"...
Spreading culture-standard enterprises
Implementing Instruction No. 58/HD-TLD dated May 10, 2022 of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the whole province currently has 2,614 agencies, units and enterprises recognized as meeting cultural standards according to the criteria of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the General Confederation. Many businesses maintain early hours activities, workers' forums, periodic dialogues, building codes of conduct, office culture, contributing to the formation of a friendly, disciplined and civilized working environment.
Every year, the Provincial Federation of Labor directs trade unions at all levels to participate with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in organizing more than 600 activities of the National Great Unity Festival (November 18) in residential areas, industrial parks, and workers' dormitories. The activities attracted over 30,000 union members and workers, with many exciting contents.
With the attention and leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee and close coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" among union members and workers in Dong Thap is assessed to be increasingly in-depth and substantial. Trade unions at all levels have affirmed their core role in promoting the strength of solidarity, creating a civilized, safe and happy working environment, contributing to building the Dong Thap people " Loyalty - Dynamism - Creativity".
In the coming period, the Dong Thap Provincial Federation of Labor will continue to promote propaganda work, replicate typical cultural models, focus on building grassroots cultural institutions, linking the movement with digital transformation and the goal of "Improving the material and spiritual life of union members and workers", towards sustainable development.
