Education Trade Union presents 2,375 Tet gifts to union members
On December 30, a solemn session of the 17th Congress of the Vietnam Education Trade Union, term 2025-2030, took place.
Attending the event were Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Mr. Nguyen Viet Loc - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Education and Training and 150 delegates representing 41,935 union members, cadres, teachers, and workers (CBNGNLD).
Currently, the Vietnam Education Trade Union (VTC) directly manages 73 units, including 4 national university and regional university trade unions and 69 grassroots trade unions with a total of 41,935 union members and employees.
In the period of 2023 - 2025, the Trade Union will implement a full-term work program "Innovation of care and protection work associated with the needs and conditions of teachers and workers in the education sector", a resolution "Supporting education in disadvantaged areas" to build public housing, supporting and helping employees in disadvantaged areas, which has been actively responded to by trade unions at all levels. Accordingly, mobilized support to build 6 clean water projects in Sin Ho (Lai Chau) worth 300 million VND and supported the construction of a teacher's official residence at Hien Da High School, Cam Khe Commune (Phu Tho Province) with a budget of approximately 1.2 billion VND...
The Trade Union has organized 6 "Tet Sum Vay" programs with over 2.4 billion VND; presented 2,375 Tet gifts to employees; 736 Tet gifts to students. During the Lunar New Year, they took care of Tet and gave gifts to 4,352 employees in difficult circumstances and suffering from serious illnesses, reaching 4.3 billion VND...
Caring for spiritual life and health care has been promoted with 45,127 employees receiving health check-ups. Propaganda work has many innovations, meeting the requirements in the new situation, creating many impressions in the industry.
Activities in response to the annual Workers' Month have been actively implemented, innovating the form, content and communication products. Speaking at the congress, Mr. Nguyen Viet Loc - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Education and Training highly appreciated the activities of the Trade Union for the period 2023-2025 in caring for and protecting union members, teachers and workers in both macro and specific aspects.
For the 2025-2030 term, Mr. Nguyen Viet Loc suggested that the Trade Union study a number of issues to implement in the coming time: Activities aimed at encouraging teachers and workers in the industry to change their awareness, be self-conscious and voluntarily participate in the industry's innovation process; promote learning and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style, build a model of exemplary teachers; pay attention to Party building in the trade union organization; immediately after the congress, the Executive Committee of the new Trade Union must focus on developing a term work program and assigning specific tasks to comprehensively lead and direct trade union activities at all levels in the Trade Union system.
Speaking at the congress, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor raised a number of issues for the Trade Union to study in the work programs for the coming term.
Accordingly, industry unions need to clarify the key role of the teaching staff in building human resources, building Vietnamese people in the new era; further promote the role of caring for, representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and employees, effectively implementing the "Welfare for union members" program; build and develop a teaching staff to meet the requirements of fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training; participate in building a safe and humane educational environment, forming a value system for Vietnamese people in the new era; strongly innovate the organization and methods of union activities...
Previously, at the session on December 29, the congress elected the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Education Trade Union for the 17th term, 2025-2030 term, consisting of 25 comrades. At the 1st Executive Committee Conference, Comrade Nguyen Ngoc An was re-elected as Chairman of the Vietnam Education Trade Union for the 2025-2030 term; The Inspection Committee of the Vietnam Education Trade Union for the 2025-2030 term consists of 5 comrades.
The Congress elected 7 official delegates and 1 alternate delegate to attend the 14th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, term 2025-2030.
