The free health check-up policy opens up joy and peace of mind for workers

Ms. Dinh Thi Nhung, from Moc Chau (Son La), has been living in Hanoi for more than 4 years. She is currently a part-time worker at a project along the To Lich River. As a freelancer, she follows wherever there is a job. The work was hard, often outdoors, sometimes in the sun and sometimes in the rain, but she still tried to send money home to send her children to study and save room when sick.

"Working as a bridge worker, I often suffer from bone and joint pain and rhinitis due to construction dust. I don't go for regular health check-ups, only when the pain is too much, do I go for a check-up. Recently, I heard that Resolution 72-NQ/TW of the Politburo from 2026 will allow all people to have regular health check-ups or free screening every year, moving towards exempting basic hospital fees according to the roadmap until 2030. I am very happy that there has never been such a policy before. Having regular health check-ups will help people and workers like me detect diseases early, and social security will also be improved" - Ms. Nhung said.

Sharing the same view, Ms. Duong Thi Yen, an environmental worker in Hanoi, said that every day she has to deal with a large amount of waste, unpleasant odors and many toxic substances, which can greatly affect her health.

"The company pays health insurance for employees, we get a health check-up once a year. If the State has a policy of free medical examination for all people, it will be very practical. Everyone hopes to be healthy to work and raise children. Our workers often suffer from bone, joint and respiratory diseases. Drugs in the insurance list are provided, but outside the list, they must be purchased by themselves, and are often expensive. I really hope Resolution 72 will soon be put into practice so that everyone can enjoy it" - Ms. Yen shared.

The implementation of Resolution 72-NQ/TW will open up opportunities for all people to access fair and timely healthcare services. This is also an important step forward in improving the quality of public health care, contributing to building a sustainable and humane developing society.
