Lao Dong Newspaper always accompanies the Trade Union and workers in Lam Dong

On the occasion of the 96th anniversary of the founding of Lao Dong Newspaper, the reporter had a conversation with Mr. Nguyen Phu Hoang - Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial Labor Federation about the coordination between the newspaper and the Provincial Trade Union.

Reporter: How do you evaluate the role of the press and media in trade union activities in the current context?

Mr. Nguyen Phu Hoang: Communication work is not only a task but also a driving force to promote the Trade Union organization in the process of building and developing.

In the context of the explosion of the internet and social networks, the role of the press and media is even more important, being the fastest way to spread information about trade union activities to union members, workers and the whole society.

The press also promptly reflects the lives and thoughts of union members, promotes improving political courage, legal knowledge, and professional skills, helping workers adapt to the job market during the integration period and the 4.0 industrial revolution.

Reporter: Please tell us, what are the outstanding results in the coordination between Lao Dong Newspaper and Lam Dong Provincial Trade Union in recent times?

Mr. Nguyen Phu Hoang: Recently, the press has promptly brought the activities of Lam Dong Provincial Trade Union to workers and society.

In particular, Lao Dong Newspaper has always accompanied the Trade Union and workers in the province. On average, Lao Dong Newspaper has published 3 to 5 articles and reports to the Lam Dong Provincial Trade Union every day.

Especially big events such as the 2023 - 2028 term congress of the Provincial Trade Union have received special attention from reporters, with many news and propaganda articles before, during and after the congress, helping the event spread and succeed.

Key programs such as Tet Sum vay, Tet 0 Dong Market, Charity Bus trip, Workers' Month, Workers' Day and sports festival always have reporters from Lao Dong Newspaper attending and reporting on the news in a timely manner.

The work of building a strong trade union organization was also monitored and supported by reporters. All new grassroots unions were published in Lao Dong Newspaper.

Lao Dong Newspaper has highlighted the work of protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers; encouraged the trade union and union officials, especially at the grassroots level, and accompanied employers for union members and workers.

Reporter: In the coming time, what orientation does Lam Dong Provincial Trade Union have to make the coordination with Lao Dong Newspaper more effective, sir?

Mr. Nguyen Phu Hoang: The annual goal of the General Confederation of Labor is for 85% of union members and workers to access information on the Party's guidelines, resolutions and labor policies.

To achieve this goal, Lam Dong Provincial Labor Federation will strengthen cooperation with Lao Dong Newspaper, improve trade union communication work.

First of all, we will improve communication skills for provincial and commune-level union officials, helping them provide timely information to reporters.

At the same time, trade unions at all levels will increase propaganda and encourage union members to buy and use print and electronic newspapers in trade union activities.

We will also research and build modern, multimedia communication products such as newsletters, infographics, podcasts, short videos, suitable for the tastes of union members and workers.

Focus on exploiting in depth topics such as new policies and laws, employment, labor safety and collective bargaining to improve welfare.
