Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Tam re-elected as President of the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union

Attending were Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Le Tien Truong - Member of the Government Party Committee, Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Textile and Garment Group; Cao Huu Hieu - General Director of Vietnam Textile and Garment Group... and 250 delegates representing the will, aspirations, and voices of union members and workers in the whole industry.

The Congress listened to a report reviewing the activities of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union for the 6th term 2023-2025; report on the results of implementing the Resolution of the 6th Congress and the tasks of the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union for the 7th term, 2025-2030; report on the synthesis of comments contributed to the draft documents of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress, the Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union (amended and supplemented), recommendations and proposals of employees in the textile and garment industry to the Party, State, Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Party Committee of the Vietnam Textile and Garment Group.

Over the past term, the system's trade union activities have made important strides. Many new contents have been implemented, many activities have left a good impression and have a wide influence. Directing and key programs have been focused on since the beginning of the term, helping to raise awareness, innovate thinking, and stick to the grassroots; being unanimous, united, and accompanying businesses and workers, contributing to reducing difficulties, stabilizing production and social order and safety.

Typical examples are emulation movements, including the movement "Good workers - Creative workers". Many innovative clubs were formed, and an idea festival was held. Skilled workers' competitions and promotion competitions are maintained annually.

Over the past two years, the whole system has had 15,592 initiatives and solutions, generating a profit of nearly 300 billion VND. Through the movement, many " initiative trees" and "skillful workers" were discovered, fostered, and built as typical examples; good methods and good practices were spread; many breakthrough solutions in technology, automation, new products... were transferred and replicated.

The 7th Congress of the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union determined the targets to strive for for the 2025 - 2030 term. The target group is directly under the responsibility of the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union, notably the target of striving for 100% of workers to be union members; 100% of full-time staff are trained in knowledge, skills, and professional experience.

One of the indicators of the coordinated target group is the average annual income increase of 2-3% higher than the actual CPI; increase the average annual total labor productivity (TFP) by 5%...

The Congress called on all cadres, union members, and workers in the whole industry to promote the achievements they have achieved, resolutely overcome limitations, continue to build a strong team of workers and trade unions, with the spirit of Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Innovation - Development; for jobs and the lives of workers; for the sustainable development of the Vietnamese and national textile and garment industry in the new era.

Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu and Mr. Le Tien Truong both highly appreciated the recent activities of the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union. The trade union has cared for, promoted, and encouraged workers to stick together and work with the enterprise to overcome difficulties.

For the new term, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu suggested that the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union continue to innovate its thinking in Trade Union activities; clearly see the harmonious benefits of all parties in labor relations; continue to improve the capacity to negotiate, sign and implement Collective Labor Agreements with policies beneficial to employees; focus on wages, shift meals, working conditions, welfare, increase the rate of Collective Labor Agreements reaching type A, B...
