Three fishing unions in Nui Thanh commune, Da Nang simultaneously elect new Executive Board

After the success of the Tam Quang Fisheries Union Congress, on November 29-30, three large trade unions in the south of Da Nang City including Tam Hai Industrial Park, Tam Tien Industrial Park and Tam Giang Industrial Park simultaneously held an expanded Executive Committee Conference.

The conference focused on summarizing the activities of the 2023-2025 term and electing the new Executive Committee, term 2025-2030, marking a new step in the development of the fishermen's organization in the area.

The conference received the attention and participation of leaders of the Party and local authorities of Nui Thanh, Tam Hai and Tam Xuan communes, along with representatives of the island protection forces such as Tam Thanh Border Guard Station, Ky Ha Port Border Guard Station, Coast Guard Region 2 Command and Fisheries Control Squadron No. 3.

At the conference, Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Phuc - Chairwoman of Nui Thanh Commune Trade Union said that the three orientation focuses of the Commune Trade Union coincide with the discussion topics of the trade unions and received consensus from fishermen.

The three key activities of the new term NDNC include: Caring for and protecting the interests of union members: Maintaining the organizational role in caring for the lives, protecting the legitimate rights and strengthening the trust of fishermen.

Determined to fight IUU fishing: Determining it as a continuous and urgent task. Comrade Dieu Phuc emphasized: "Anti-illegal fishing (IUU) is the key to maintaining long-term and sustainable livelihoods for fishermen and protecting national honor".

Protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands: Nearly 300 fishing vessels of trade unions are present strongly and legally in traditional fisheries, directly contributing to the task of protecting the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

On this occasion, the Nui Thanh Commune Union presented 5 million VND in support to union member Phan Van Tinh (Tam Giang Industrial Park) who unfortunately had a work accident while fishing at sea.

The Nui Thanh Commune Trade Union hopes that the unions will continue to promote the spirit of "Solidarity Ship - Solidarity People", maintain communication, support each other at sea, build a strong and sustainable fishing community.
