150 delegates attend the 13th Dien Bien Provincial Trade Union Congress

Attending and directing the Congress were Mr. Phan Van Anh - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Mr. Le Thanh Do - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Dien Bien province. Representatives of the leaders of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the People's Committee of Dien Bien province, the Provincial Confederation of Labor, provincial departments, branches and sectors and 150 delegates, representing over 7,000 union members in the province.

The Congress has the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Innovation - Development", with the theme "Focus on innovating the content and methods of trade union activities; performing well the role of representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers; participating in building a strong and comprehensive party, government, and trade union organization to contribute to building Dien Bien province to develop towards a green, smart, sustainable economy, and develop well in the region".

Speaking at the opening of the Congress, Mr. Tan Minh Long - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, Chairman of the Dien Bien Provincial Federation of Labor said that in the past term, despite many difficulties and challenges, the trade unions at all levels of Dien Bien province have made many efforts in implementing the Resolution of the 12th Congress.

Mr. Long also suggested that the delegates attending the Congress uphold the spirit of responsibility and democracy, actively study and contribute opinions so that the Congress can truly be a place to gather the beliefs, intentions and aspirations of union members and workers in Dien Bien province.

In the coming term, the Dien Bien Provincial Federation of Labor aims to develop and admit over 2,000 new union members; strive for 80% of enterprises with 10 or more stable employees to have a union organization.

By the end of the term, strive for over 85% or more of enterprises and units with trade unions to sign collective labor agreements.

For the 2025-2030 term, the Dien Bien Provincial Trade Union identified digital transformation as an urgent task. The goal is for 100% of union members and workers to have updated knowledge, digital skills...
