Helping children of union members and workers go to school

Attending were Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai, member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, member of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City, President of the City Labor Federation.

At the program, leaders of the Can Tho City Labor Federation and the Company's leaders presented certificates of merit and rewards to 167 excellent students with a total value of 20.5 million VND; supported 24 students in difficult circumstances, each of whom received 250,000 VND in cash and learning tools worth 430,000 VND. The activity contributes to encouraging the spirit of learning and demonstrating the concern of the Trade Union organization for the children of workers.

Jia Zhi Company Limited - Soc Trang Branch currently has more than 3,000 workers, of which about 80% are Khmer workers, industrial experts, producing hams and shoe soles for shoemaking factories. In the past, the company has fully implemented policies and regimes for employees; during the Lunar New Year, employees and workers have had a day off and bonuses according to regulations. The grassroots trade union also maintains many practical care activities such as: giving gifts to students who have overcome difficulties and studied well, who are workers' children, organizing union meals, mobilizing support for workers in difficulty and accidents.
