Ninh Thuan Provincial Federation of Labor, marking a journey

Affirming the pioneering role of protecting workers

In April 1992, the Ninh Thuan Provincial Federation of Labor was established on the basis of a part of the Thuan Hai Trade Union. With more than 10,000 workers, civil servants, laborers (CNVCLD) and a team of young union officials, the first years of the province's separation were extremely difficult.

The growth of the staff is an important factor that motivates the Ninh Thuan Labor Federation to quickly innovate to gather workers in the Trade Union. Up to now, Ninh Thuan Trade Union has had nearly 40,000 union members, making an important contribution to the socio-economic development of the province.

With the motto of focusing on the grassroots, taking union members as the center, Ninh Thuan Trade Unions at all levels have performed well in recent years the function of representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers.

Outstanding figures are maintained annually such as: 100% of administrative units in the public service sector and over 82% of enterprises with trade unions organize employee conferences; over 80% of enterprises coordinate to organize dialogues between the Trade Union and employers; over 80% of enterprises with trade unions sign and implement collective labor agreements...

Determining the building of harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations in enterprises as the foundation for activities, since 2019, the Provincial Federation of Labor proposed and advised on organizing a thematic meeting with voters of the National Assembly Delegation of Ninh Thuan province with union members and employees and a meeting and dialogue conference between the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee and workers.

Through the conferences, hundreds of wishes on building houses for workers, wages, jobs ... of union members and employees were received and resolved by the province. Thanks to the close relationship between units and employees, Ninh Thuan is also one of the few localities that do not have regular strikes and leadership strikes.

The emulation movements launched by the Trade Union have encouraged and aroused the spirit of creativity in each member and employee. The Good Labor, Creative Labor Movement; Good at public affairs, Good at housework; Green-Clean-Beautiful; Improving labor productivity, product and service quality... thousands of initiatives and improvements of employees have been recognized and brought benefits to the unit and enterprise.

Along with strength building, in recent years, the Ninh Thuan Provincial Federation of Labor has gradually built the welfare of the Trade Union, gathered resources to take care of union members and workers, especially low-income union members with difficult circumstances and union members in areas without labor relations.

The Trade Union Shelter Program has been implemented by the Ninh Thuan Provincial Federation of Labor since 2007 to support funding for more than 400 union members to build new solid houses and 55 union members to repair houses, with a total value of nearly 13 billion VND.

The Tet Sum vay and Workers' Month programs have so far supported thousands of union members and employees by trade unions at all levels with a budget of more than 20 billion VND. The welfare program for union members has signed 12 cooperation agreements, so far 9,000 union members have benefited with a value of nearly 1.5 billion VND.

Mr. Tran Van Dong - Chairman of the Ninh Thuan Provincial Federation of Labor shared that from July 1, 2025, the Ninh Thuan Provincial Federation of Labor will enter a new page, the journey of the name Ninh Thuan Federation of Labor will end and transfer operations according to the new model.

To prepare for this journey, the Trade Unions at all levels in the province have urgently completed the work of arranging and perfecting the organizational model. Up to now, the work of arranging and dissolving district and industry-level Labor Federations and personnel work has been basically completed. Of which, there are 16 cases of voluntary retirement, 14 cases will continue to hold positions in the organization when implementing the arrangement and merger of the new Khanh Hoa province from July 1.

Where there are workers, there is a trade union organization - each Ninh Thuan Trade Union official always determines: no matter the position, they always strive to fulfill their tasks, worthy of being the leader of the workers - Mr. Tran Van Dong emphasized.
