Nearly 380 million VND to support disadvantaged workers in the Maritime sector
There have been 42 units under the Vietnam National Shipping Lines Trade Union organizing Workers' Month, reaching 140% of the target assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
Providing funding for the grassroots trade union to support 283 disadvantaged workers
On June 9, Mr. Le Phan Linh - Chairman of the Vietnam National Shipping Lines Trade Union - said that, implementing the direction of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, based on the reality of production and business and the movement of employees of the units, the Corporation's Trade Union has developed a plan to organize activities for Workers' Month in 2025 with the theme: "Vietnamese workers pioneering in entering a new era" and deployed it to all affiliated trade unions, with the goal of striving for 60% or more of trade unions to have at least 1 activity in response to Workers' Month. As a result, 42 units have organized Workers' Month, reaching 140% of the target assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
The Corporation's Trade Union has also provided grants to grassroots trade unions to support 283 union members, workers in difficult circumstances, those who have suffered work-related accidents, and union members' families who died due to work-related accidents and traffic accidents in 2025, with a total amount of nearly 380 million VND; approved the policy of supporting 1 "Union Shelter" for workers in difficult circumstances, with an amount of 50 million VND at Nghe Tinh Port.
The Corporation's Trade Union has coordinated with 25 Trade Unions to organize meetings and give gifts directly to employees in difficult circumstances at the unit and to their families.
Enterprises and trade unions join hands for workers

Ms. Nguyen Le Giang - Chairman of the Quang Ninh Port Trade Union - said that on the occasion of Workers' Month 2025, Quang Ninh Port organized support programs for workers to honor the efforts of the workforce and the "Excellent Safety Committee" contest with the goal of improving the knowledge, skills and sense of responsibility of each safety Committee member in ensuring occupational safety and hygiene at the workplace.
In addition, the trade union also coordinated to organize a meeting and exchange program between the board of directors and employees. At the program, leaders listened to and answered the questions of employees, and at the same time presented valuable gifts to employees.
Realizing that workers are a decisive factor for the sustainable development of Quang Ninh Port, the Board of Directors is committed to continuing to maintain and develop activities to care for workers' lives, improve working conditions as well as welfare policies for workers. Activities towards employees at Quang Ninh Port on the occasion of Workers' Month are not only events, but also a symbol of solidarity and attachment between employees in the port - Mr. Hoang Trong Tung, General Director of Quang Ninh Port shared.
According to Mr. Le Phan Linh, Chairman of the Vietnam National Shipping Lines Trade Union: "The goals set for Workers' Month have been completed; but more importantly, workers in difficult circumstances are cared for and supported; workers have many initiatives that have been commended and honored; the thoughts and aspirations of workers are listened to and resolved promptly by Party committees, professional groups, and trade unions; the work of developing union members during the peak period is comprehensively implemented".
In addition to effectively implementing activities to care for employees, responding to the direction on the peak period of developing union members and establishing grassroots unions of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the General Corporation's Trade Union has promoted propaganda work, sent staff to directly support and guide grassroots unions to mobilize and persuade union members and employees to participate in the Trade Union organization and promptly reward collectives and individuals who have done a good job of developing union members. In May, nearly 1,600 workers were admitted to the Trade Union.
