Lam Dong - After the flood, the Trade Union of Hai Trieu Company Limited has provided timely support to union members who suffered property damage.

On November 8, Ms. Ung Thi Li La - Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Hai Trieu Company Limited said that 52 union members and workers of the unit have received support due to property damage during the recent flood.

Of which, 20 gifts, each worth 1 million VND, were directly presented by the working delegation of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on November 5.

The grassroots union has proposed that the enterprise support 32 more gifts with a total cost of 20.5 million VND. Union members who have suffered property damage of over VND10 million will be supported with VND1 million, and under VND10 million will be supported with VND500,000.

Hai Trieu Company operates in Phan Thiet Industrial Park, a grassroots union under the Binh Thuan Ward Trade Union. Most of the union members live in areas that were deeply flooded during the recent heavy rains combined with flood discharge from irrigation lakes.

About 40% of union members and workers of the company are in flooded areas. The union regularly informs about the situation of storms, visits union members and proactively proposes that businesses support affected workers" - Ms. Ung Thi Li La added.

According to the Binh Thuan Ward Union, the whole ward has 106 union members and workers of 6 grassroots unions who suffered property damage during the flood. The ward union has compiled a list and requested the Provincial Labor Federation to soon allocate support sources.
