Regulations on working hours of teachers from 2026

The Lao Dong Newspaper Legal Consulting Office replied:

Clause 2, Article 16 of the 2025 Law on Teachers (effective from January 1, 2026) stipulates: Teachers' working time is the time spent performing professional activities as prescribed in Clause 2, Article 7 of this Law.

Clause 2, Article 7 of the 2025 Law on Teachers stipulates the content of professional activities of teachers including:

a) Preparing and organizing teaching, education, and assessment for learners;

b) Learning and development;

c) Scientific research;

d) Community service;

d) Other professional activities.

Thus, the working time of teachers is regulated as above.
