Professional duties of teachers at school level

The Lao Dong Newspaper Legal Consulting Office replied:

Clause 4, Article 7 of the 2025 Law on Teachers stipulates that the professional activities of teachers are regulated according to the level of education and training to perform the following tasks:

a) Preschool teachers perform the task of nurturing, caring for, educating, and protecting children according to the preschool education program;

b) Primary school teachers, secondary school teachers, high school teachers and pre-university teachers performing teaching and education tasks, subjects, and educational activities according to the general education program and university preparation program;

c) Continuing education teachers perform teaching and education tasks according to the continuing education program;

d) Teachers and lecturers of vocational education perform the task of teaching, educating, guiding learners according to training programs at primary, secondary, college and other vocational training programs; perform scientific research tasks;

d) University lecturers perform the task of teaching, educating, guiding learners according to the university education program; perform scientific research tasks;

e) Lecturers in schools of state agencies, political organizations, and people's armed forces perform the task of teaching and guiding learners according to training and fostering programs.

Thus, the professional duties of teachers at school level are regulated as above.
