Students who improve their vocational skills are supported with meals of 50,000 VND/day

The Government has just issued Decree 374/2025/ND-CP detailing a number of articles of the Law on Employment on Unemployment Insurance (effective from January 1, 2026).

According to Article 11, Decree 374/2025/ND-CP, on the level of training support for improving vocational skills, participants in training courses to improve vocational skills for less than 3 months will receive support calculated according to the tuition fee collection level of vocational training institutions but not exceeding 4.5 million VND/person/training course.

For those who participate in training courses to improve their vocational skills for 3 months or more, the support level is calculated monthly and the tuition fee of the vocational training institution is not more than 1.5 million VND/person/month.

Notably, participants in vocational training courses and improving vocational skills are supported with a meal allowance of VND50,000/person/day of actual study.

For the funding to support tuition fees for training and improving vocational skills, the social insurance agency will pay through vocational training institutions. The cost of food support is paid by the social insurance agency to the employee.

The subjects of application according to the provisions of Decree 374/2025/ND-CP are employees and employers who are required to participate in unemployment insurance as prescribed in Article 31 of the Law on Employment.
