Priority subjects in teacher recruitment
A reader with email vanphongxxx@gmail.com asked: Who is given priority and who is not recruited as a teacher?
The Lao Dong Newspaper Legal Consulting Office replied:
Clause 3, 4, Article 14 of the 2025 Law on Teachers stipulates the conditions for receiving unemployment benefits as follows:
3. Priority subjects in recruitment include:
a) People who have performed teaching and education tasks at job positions suitable for the job positions to be recruited;
b) For vocational education, priority is given to people with high vocational skills and experience in actual production, business and service in accordance with the industry and teaching profession;
c) Other cases of priority recruitment as prescribed by law.
4. Those who are not allowed to register for recruitment include:
a) People with civil act capacity loss, limited civil act capacity or people with difficulty in perception, mastering behavior;
b) People being prosecuted for criminal liability; serving a court's criminal judgment or decision; being subject to the measure of being sent to a compulsory drug rehabilitation facility or a compulsory education facility;
c) People with a criminal record for violations of national security, crimes against human life, health, dignity and honor according to the provisions of the Penal Code.
Thus, who is given priority and who is not recruited as a teacher are regulated as above.
