Sharing unlicensed remedies on Facebook, causing panic, fined up to 20 million VND

Article 11, Section 1, Chapter II, Decree No. 330/2026/ND-CP stipulating penalties for administrative violations in the field of network security and personal data protection (effective August 19, 2026) stipulates the creation and dissemination of information in cyberspace with untrue content, unverified, causing panic among the people, affecting social order as follows:

1. A fine of 5 million VND to 10 million VND shall be imposed for one of the following acts:

c) Providing and sharing information about methods, therapies, remedies, and techniques for medical examination and treatment that have not been permitted by competent authorities or have not been certified according to specialized regulations.

Article 7, Decree No. 330/2026/ND-CP stipulates the level of fines and sanctioning authority as follows:

1. From Section 1 to Section 5 of Chapter II, this Decree stipulates the level of fines applied to administrative violations in the field of network security committed by individuals. In case an organization has the same violation, the fine applied to the organization is equal to two times the fine applied to the individual.

Thus, from August 19, 2026, sharing remedies and treatment techniques that are not permitted by competent authorities on Facebook but cause confusion among the people, affecting social order, may be fined up to 20 million VND for organizations and 10 million VND for individuals.
