Workers aged 25-40 account for 62.36% of unemployed people in Hanoi

According to data from the Labor Market Bulletin for unemployed workers newly issued by the Hanoi Employment Service Center, in 2026, the unemployment structure in the Capital is unevenly distributed. Accordingly, the 25-40 age group accounts for the highest proportion (62.36%) of unemployed people; followed by the group over 40 years old (27.83%) and the group under 24 years old (9.8%).

Despite facing different challenges, each age group possesses its own strengths that are highly appreciated by businesses and employers.

Workers under 24 years old are a young, flexible force and absorb new technologies very quickly. The Hanoi Employment Service Center recommends that young workers should actively participate in internship programs, vocational training or part-time jobs to quickly accumulate practical experience and build capacity profiles.

Workers aged 25-40 are the main group in the business. They possess solid expertise, practical experience and the ability to work independently. The Hanoi Employment Service Center recommends that in the context of digital transformation, this group needs to proactively update technology skills, learn management certificates and exploit the network of professional relationships well to increase competitive advantages.

Workers over 40 years old possess rich experience and sharp problem-solving skills. Stability, responsibility and long-term commitment are the factors that "score points" absolutely for management, operation, technical, and administrative personnel positions. Hanoi Employment Service Center recommends that workers of this age group should maximize their accumulated professional expertise, focusing on applying for positions that require high reliability and complex situation handling skills.
