Hanoi recruits 40,000 jobs in December 2025
According to the Hanoi Employment Service Center, in December 2025, the recruitment demand across the city is estimated at about 40,000 positions.
This figure reflects the need to focus resources, speed up production to ensure export orders and domestic consumption needs. Based on the survey and information collection of 4,568 recruitment targets of 907 enterprises implemented by the Hanoi Employment Service Center, recruitment demand has the following outstanding characteristics: The "wholesale, retail and other service activities" industry continues to affirm its pivotal role when accounting for 57.4%; the "industry, processing and manufacturing" industry accounts for 22.2% of total recruitment demand; Next is the "construction" industry accounting for 1.5%.
Also in December 2025, recruitment demand will focus on the group of professional specialists/technicians and technical workers/workers (accounting for 20.4% and 15.1% of total recruitment demand respectively) to serve the rapid increase in production and business demand in the last months of the year. Industry groups recorded increased recruitment demand such as retail, construction, mechanical engineering, electricity - electronics - refrigeration, textiles. This is a great opportunity for workers to find a job that suits their attractive salary in the last months of the year.
In addition to the qualifications requirements, along with the dominance of seasonal and part-time labor positions, the demand for professional qualifications of workers also fluctuates, mainly focusing on the average labor level and unskilled technical workers (accounting for 4% of total recruitment needs). Next are workers with a university degree or higher for professional specialist/technical positions, accounting for 20.8%.
The change in qualifications also closely corresponds to the shift in the salary structure that businesses have proposed. The salary of 5-10 million VND/month accounts for the largest proportion, accounting for 62%. Meanwhile, the salary from 10-20 million VND/month decreased to 36%. A salary of VND20 million/month or more only accounts for 0.9% of total recruitment demand, showing that at the end of the year, businesses have little need to recruit senior personnel and high-level specialists. This shift affirms the trend of businesses focusing on promoting recruitment in the segment of part-time and seasonal workers with low salaries to quickly fill positions to increase production and business capacity.
The number of applications for unemployment benefits and the number of employees with decisions to receive unemployment benefits tend to decrease compared to November 2025 (from 5,730 applications to 4,428 applications).
