AI creates voice development, voice talent workers face pressure to innovate
The development of AI is changing market demand, forcing voice talents to continuously improve their skills to adapt.
People in the profession are forced to create value beyond a recording.
Just by entering a paragraph of text, AI can create a voice reading in just a few minutes. As technology is increasingly widely applied in advertising, audiobooks and videos, many simple voice acting jobs are also gradually being replaced.
As AI takes on more and more repetitive jobs, the voice talent profession (the profession of using professional voice for advertising, film dubbing and audiobook reading) is also facing pressure to change. People in the profession not only sell a reading voice but also have to create value in emotions, acting ability and personal imprint.
With more than 6 years of experience in the field of voice talent, Ms. Vu Ngoc Ngan Giang (Hanoi) said that AI technology both creates pressure and becomes a motivation for professionals to improve their abilities.
I have witnessed customers switch to using AI because it saves costs, is fast and convenient. That makes me set higher standards, constantly upgrading myself to avoid being eliminated in the digital age," Ms. Vu Ngoc Ngan Giang shared.

For me, people who are always progressive and have their own identity are very difficult to replace. AI can imitate voices but it is very difficult to replace each person's style and imprint," Ms. Giang said.
Having been pursuing a voice talent career for about 3 years, Ms. Dang Nhat Linh (Hanoi) chose to adapt instead of seeing AI as a competitor.
AI changes market demand. Simple tasks are reduced, while projects that require emotion, personality and interpretive ability are more valued. Therefore, people in the profession like me need to create more value than just a recording," Ms. Linh said.
According to Ms. Linh, AI will be effective if used as a tool to support the professional process.
I spend more time honing my voice skills. At the same time, I also apply AI to some supporting stages to optimize the working process. I believe that knowing how to utilize technology will create a greater advantage than avoiding it," Ms. Linh shared.
AI cannot replace the emotions of professionals
From a training perspective, Mr. Do Ngoc Son - Director of ST Lighthouse Soft Skills Academy - said that AI is creating both opportunities and challenges for the voice talent profession.
AI helps improve recording quality, support post-production processing and shorten production time. However, technology can also simulate existing voices, causing a part of professionals to lose competitive advantages," said Mr. Do Ngoc Son.

According to Mr. Do Ngoc Son, AI is doing well in standard content such as audiobooks or video reading information, but it is still difficult to replace human emotion processing capabilities.
With products that need to study the audience, process emotions and emphasize appropriately, people still have a clear advantage," Mr. Son said.
Mr. Son believes that practitioners need to proactively apply AI, and at the same time continuously update market trends, diversify voice quality and expand their fields of operation to maintain competitive advantages.
The future of the voice talent profession still lies in the values of emotion and identity that are very difficult to copy. No matter how much AI develops, people still have a place if they constantly learn, improve their expertise and create their own mark in each product," Mr. Son emphasized.
