The Hanoi Employment Service Center recommends 3 key skills that Hanoi students need to improve immediately to meet the practical requirements of the labor market.

The newsletter "A job picture for students in Hanoi" was developed by the Hanoi Employment Service Center based on survey data from more than 3,000 students in the third quarter of 2025.

From a survey, the Hanoi Employment Service Center clearly stated 3 key skills that students are limited to and need to improve.

Ability to analyze and plan strategies

Lack of market analysis ability with 39.17% of students confused about human resource trends, making it difficult to make the right decision without information.

The weakness in career planning is that 49.64% of students do not have a clear path and lack a long-term vision.

High-level thinking abilities are still not

Solving the problem: Up to 63.8% of students self-assess only from an average level or below.

Critical thinking: 67.56% of students are not confident; there is a trend of accepting one-sided information.

Creativity: 74.32% of students self-assess at an average level or lower, showing that students lack an environment to encourage new ideas.

Foreign languages for work are not yet met

44.57% of surveyed students self-assessed that their working English was weak/very weak. This is a big barrier when wanting to work in an international environment.

In addition to the 3 key skills that are still weak, the Hanoi Employment Service Center recommends some attitudes that need to be improved.

Increased ability to cope with pressure and manage emotions: indirect data/teasury: 10.77% of students have difficulty balancing study and extra work or are worried during interviews, showing that students lack experience in handling large workloads, urgent deadlines or negative feedback.

Discipline and perseverance at work: Transitioning from a relatively flexible learning environment to a highly disciplined working environment (work hours, processes) is a challenge; it is necessary to practice perseverance, pursue the goal to the end, not easy to give up when facing initial difficulties.

Communication style and professional behavior: Although basic communication skills are good, behavior in the office environment (email, meeting, reporting, listening...) needs to be standardized and more professional.
