Urging units to pay social insurance late for a long time in Hai Phong

On September 17 and 19, the City Social Insurance introduced key contents of the Social Insurance Law 2024, emphasizing new regulations on the rights and obligations of employees and the responsibility of employers in paying social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance, focusing on disseminating regulations on late payment and evasion.

The leader of Hai Phong Social Insurance affirmed that complying with the provisions of the Law on social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance contributions not only ensures the legitimate rights of employees but also contributes to building a stable working environment, helping businesses develop sustainably.

Representatives of departments and branches attending the conference also requested employers to seriously fulfill their payment obligations according to the provisions of the Social Insurance Law. The city police will closely coordinate with the city's social insurance agency in monitoring and handling cases of intentional evasion and late payment, ensuring the strictness of the law. On the side of the City Labor Federation, it will strengthen propaganda and mobilize workers, civil servants, and employees to co-supervise the payment of social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance at units and enterprises. Thereby, timely recommendations for violations to ensure the legitimate rights of workers.

Also at the conference, leaders of the city's Social Insurance and departments and branches worked with units that were late in paying social insurance with large sums of money, with a late payment period of 3 months or more.

Representatives of many businesses have frankly pointed out difficulties and problems caused by fluctuations in production and business situations, especially after the economic recovery period. Some units shared about the shortage of orders, high production costs and some objective reasons such as storms, fires... affecting the ability to fulfill social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance payment obligations on time.

After discussing and working with the units, the City Social Insurance recommends that the units quickly find solutions and absolutely comply with the provisions of the law on the Labor Law and the Social Insurance Law, not prolong the situation of late payment, to avoid leading to violations of the law. The city's Social Insurance is determined to prevent late payment and evasion, affecting the rights of employees when they are unfortunately sick, at risk of work accidents, medical examination and treatment, etc.

In addition, the City Social Insurance will accompany businesses to find suitable solutions during the period when businesses are having difficulties due to objective reasons. In particular, for cases of sluggish payment and evasion, the City Social Insurance will urge according to regulations, organize inspections or coordinate with competent authorities to organize inspections and handle administrative violations. In case of intentional violation, a file will be prepared and transferred to the police agency for prosecution according to the provisions of law. After the meeting, representatives of all enterprises pledged to comply with regulations and recover the late payment amount.
