Commending commune health workers in Quang Ngai for saving a drowning young man
Quang Ngai - Two employees of Dong Tra Bong Commune Health Station promptly performed cardiac tamponade and artificial respiration to save a drowning young man, and were unexpectedly commended by the local authorities.
On February 28, Mr. Le Minh Vuong - Chairman of Dong Tra Bong Commune People's Committee said that the locality had just organized a commendation and unexpected reward for the collective of the Commune Health Station and two station employees, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Anh and Ms. Ho Thi Ninh, for their outstanding achievements in rescuing and saving drowning people.
Previously, at about 2 pm on February 26, at the foot of Moi bridge, Tra Boi stream in hamlet 3, Dong Tra Bong commune, Mr. Do Minh T. (22 years old), residing in An Phu commune, unfortunately slipped and fell into deep water and drowned while playing and swimming in the stream with a group of friends.
Discovering the incident, Mr. Pham Vu Hieu, who was with the group, quickly swam out to rescue, brought the victim ashore and performed initial first aid; and reported to local functional forces.
Immediately after receiving the news, two staff members of Dong Tra Bong Commune Health Station urgently arrived at the scene, deploying professional emergency measures such as chest compressions, artificial respiration and anti-asphyxia. At this time, the victim was in critical condition, cyanotic, with no signs of circulation.
With a high sense of responsibility and timely handling, after about 20 minutes of active emergency treatment, the victim gradually regained consciousness, breathed again and vital signs were stable. At about 3 pm on the same day, the victim's health was basically stable and was transferred to a higher-level hospital for continued monitoring and treatment.
Also on this occasion, Dong Tra Bong Commune People's Committee unexpectedly rewarded 7 individuals with outstanding achievements in the fight against drug crime. Previously, the Commune Police force proactively grasped the situation, coordinated to detect and handle subjects with acts of buying, selling, and organizing the illegal use of drugs in Binh Dong village, contributing to maintaining security and order in the area.
