Ho Chi Minh City supports Khanh Hoa in overcoming the consequences of historic floods

On December 13, Khanh Hoa province organized a reception of support from the Party Committee, government and people of Ho Chi Minh City to support people and educational institutions in the area to overcome the consequences of the recent floods.

According to Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc, in this support package, Ho Chi Minh City focuses on practical and long-term contents such as disease prevention and control after floods; supporting the restoration and reconstruction of schools; at the same time helping people stabilize their livelihoods through supporting crops and livestock.

Currently, departments and branches of Ho Chi Minh City still maintain communication and closely coordinate with departments and branches of Khanh Hoa to promptly support when the locality has a need, ensuring efficiency and synchronization Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc emphasized.

The Ho Chi Minh City working group presented a symbolic board to support Khanh Hoa province with 2,000 tons of rice worth more than 26.8 billion VND; supported the repair of 31 schools worth more than 26.5 billion VND; supported 350 million VND in cash and 4,104 household water filtration equipment worth 2 billion VND.

In addition, Becamex Group donated 2 billion VND to Khanh Hoa province.

The recent historic flood caused particularly serious damage in Khanh Hoa, killing 22 people, injuring 20, completely collapsing 89 houses, severely damaging 294 houses, and sweeping away thousands of livestock and poultry. Many traffic routes, flower areas and infrastructure works were severely damaged, with total estimated damage of more than VND5,000 billion.
