Hurry up to build houses, stabilize the lives of people in Lao Cai flood area soon
Lao Cai - In the flooded areas of Viet Hong, dozens of new houses are gradually being completed, bringing hope for a safe and stable life for the people.
In the last days of December, when arriving at Ban Na village, Viet Hong commune, the people here were still busy cleaning, repairing, and building houses.
The whole village is like a construction site, many new houses are being built after floods, the appearance is new, spacious houses, located in a spacious, flat, and safe place.


While busy digging the soil behind her house, Ms. Ha Thi Khang (born in 21, in Na village, Viet Hong commune) shared that the recent storm No. 10 caused extremely heavy damage to her family. The house was swept away by the flood, and her husband also died in that terrible flash flood.
"At that time, I was almost completely devastated, my husband passed away, the house was gone, the fields and gardens were completely buried, and I was old and weak," Ms. Khang confided.


Immediately after the natural disaster, the local government promptly started to overcome the natural disaster. Up to now, 3 months have passed, the ruins caused by floods are still there, but people are still trying every day to stabilize their lives soon.
"In difficult times, I would like to thank the Vietnam Fatherland Front, departments, local authorities, and benefactors for timely encouragement and support so that the family can have a new place to live," said Ms. Khang.



Thanks to the support of all levels, after choosing a new location, through the review and assessment of the local government, Ms. Khang's family has built a new level 4 house about 1km from the old house, located on a high, flat, and safe land area.
Speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Nguyen Tien Chien - Chairman of the People's Committee of Viet Hong commune said - As for storm No. 10, the whole commune had nearly 290 houses affected. Of which, 2 houses were completely collapsed, 42 households had to be urgently evacuated because their houses were in dangerous landslide areas.


To date, 35 houses have been started for construction (9 households have applied for self-resolution to stabilize on site), 1 household has been completed and 34 households are under construction, the total allocated cost is more than 3.5 billion VND.
Responding to the "Quang Trung Campaign - Express House Building for People Damaged by Floods" launched by the Prime Minister and called for by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lao Cai province, the locality has mobilized maximum human and material resources to support people to build houses in new places of residence, expected to be completed before February 10, 2026.
