On the afternoon of January 27, in Hanoi, Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai - Member of the Politburo, Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) - visited General Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Thongloun Sisoulith.

On behalf of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai sent her warmest congratulations on the success of the 12th National Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party. The success of the Congress once again affirmed the political, ideological, organizational and leadership unity within the Party; and marked a major development step of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party; especially warmly congratulating Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith on continuing to receive absolute trust in holding the position of General Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party. In that spirit, from January 28 to 30, 2026, the Fatherland Fronts of the two countries will coordinate to organize an international conference on building a peaceful, friendly, cooperative and developing Vietnam-Laos border in 2026 in Nghe An province with the participation of the Fronts of 10 provinces in Laos and 9 provinces and cities of Vietnam sharing a border to concretize the Party Congress Resolution of each country, especially to concretize the spirit of the Joint Statement of the high-level meeting between the two Parties in December 2025 on deepening the relationship of "Great Friendship, Special Solidarity, Comprehensive Cooperation, Strategic Linkage" between the two countries.

Providing information about the highlights in the activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in the past time, Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai said that 2025 is the year the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, and mass organizations assigned by the Party and State to arrange the organizational structure to ensure streamlining, effective and efficient operation.
