Da Nang people contribute more than 303 billion VND to build public works

On December 2, at the first Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) of Vietnam and socio-political organizations of Da Nang City (term 2025-2030), Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City Le Tri Thanh launched an emulation movement with the theme: "Promoting the strength of great solidarity, promoting patriotic emulation movements, building a civilized, modern, high-quality Da Nang city".

Over the past 5 years, the Front system and socio-political organizations of Da Nang city have innovated the content and methods of operation, contributing to strengthening people's trust. The whole city has built and replicated 1,941 self-management models; people have contributed more than 303 billion VND, 550,700m2 of land and 234,000 working days to build roads, cultural houses, schools, canals.

Responding to the "The whole country joins hands for the poor" movement, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and its member organizations have helped 2,096 households escape poverty, reducing the poverty rate in the city from 5.23% in 2020 to 4.56% by the end of 2024. The "For the Poor" Fund has mobilized 385 billion VND, supported the construction and repair of more than 8,500 houses, supported production, medical examination and treatment and education for tens of thousands of cases.

Recalling the difficult period caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr. Le Tri Thanh said: "The campaign "Sharing love, overcoming the pandemic" has raised more than 273 billion VND, more than 1,000 tons of food and supported the safe return of more than 6,000 people in Da Nang and Quang Nam from Ho Chi Minh City to their hometowns".

The City Labor Federation implemented 23,384 initiatives, earning 215 billion VND; building 606 union shelters. The Farmers' Association has 260,000 households achieving the title of good at production and business. The City Youth Union has implemented 2,100 projects, 5,500 youth projects, planted 25,000 trees, and digitized 86 "red addresses". The Women's Union and the Veterans Association organize many activities to care for members and build an increasingly strong organization.

Speaking at the congress, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Ngo Xuan Thang acknowledged the efforts of the Front system: "The emulation movements have truly spread, contributing to maintaining political and social stability and improving the quality of life of Da Nang people".

Launching the emulation movement for the period 20252030, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Le Tri Thanh suggested that the entire system continue to innovate and create, bringing the movement into practice: Fronte levels must closely follow the political tasks of the city, grasp the peoples thoughts, discover and replicate typical models from the grassroots; put efficiency and spread as a measure of the emulation movement.

He also requested to continue to effectively implement the Law on Emulation and Commendation 2022, Directive 41-CT/TW on strengthening emulation work in the new situation; at the same time, focus on publicity and transparency in comments and honoring typical examples.

At the congress, 288 collectives and individuals were awarded. In which, the President awarded the Third Class Labor Medal to 2 individuals; the Prime Minister awarded certificates of merit to 13 individuals; the Chairman of the City People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 9 individuals; many individuals and groups were honored by the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the city.
