During the 2024 - 2029 term, the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) system at all levels of Hanoi has achieved many outstanding results in all aspects of work, especially consolidating the great national unity bloc. Can you evaluate the most outstanding marks of the recent term?

- Ms. Bui Huyen Mai: In the past term, the Vietnam Fatherland Front system at all levels of the capital has constantly innovated, more clearly affirming its core political role in the great national unity bloc, contributing to the successful implementation of the city's development goals. First of all, the Front at all levels has proactively adhered to political tasks, promoted the strength of solidarity, social consensus, mobilized the intelligence and resources of all classes of people, contributed to maintaining political stability, socio-economic development, and ensuring national defense and security.

Patriotic emulation movements, especially the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas", the movement "Creative Solidarity", "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" ... have been widely deployed, spreading to each residential area and each household, becoming a great spiritual driving force to actively encourage people to participate in building the capital.

A special mark is the organization of the Great Unity Festival of the entire nation, which has been strongly innovated in content and form, becoming a cultural - political space connecting the community, arousing patriotism, pride and responsibility as citizens. The whole city has more than 5,000 residential areas organizing the Festival; tens of thousands of outstanding collectives and households were honored; hundreds of civil works and nearly 4,000 Great Unity houses were built and repaired.

Those results clearly demonstrate the bravery, intelligence, and sense of responsibility of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels of the city, continuing to strengthen the people's trust in the Party and government and clarifying the sustainable value of the tradition of "Grand Unity - the source of invincible strength of our nation".

Can you share the most practical results of supervision and social criticism activities in the past term, as well as the areas that will be prioritized for supervision in the coming time?

- Ms. Bui Huyen Mai: The monitoring and social criticism activities of the City's Front at all levels are increasingly becoming more and more substantial, with the right focus and key points, selecting issues of direct concern to the people such as: Citizen reception, handling petitions, renovating old apartment buildings, providing clean water, operating the two-level local government model, implementing urban planning and social security policies.

During the term, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels organized more than 360 monitoring delegations, 1,000 interdisciplinary monitoring participants and 250 social criticism conferences. Many opinions and recommendations of the Front have been absorbed by authorities at all levels, adjusting policies to suit reality, and promoting efficiency in State management.

In particular, the activities of the People's Inspectorate and the Community Investment Supervisory Board continue to be improved, promoting practical results. The committees have supervised more than 10,000 cases, recommended handling hundreds of violations, contributing to improving discipline, preventing negativity, and creating trust among the people. In the coming time, the City Fatherland Front will prioritize monitoring the implementation of the Capital Law (amended), social security programs, planning, land management, environmental protection and the city's digital transformation process - areas directly linked to the lives and legitimate rights of the people.

How do you evaluate the effectiveness of the movement "All people unite to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas" and how has Hanoi created sustainable changes in caring for the poor?

- Ms. Bui Huyen Mai: It can be said that the movement "All people unite to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas" is a bright spot in the activities of the Capital Fatherland Front, both having political significance and profound humanistic value. The movement has mobilized the people's strength to care for the people, arousing the spirit of self-management, self-awareness and creativity of the community. Hundreds of model residential areas, typical cultural families, green - clean - beautiful - safe streets, self-management models to protect the environment... have been replicated, creating an increasingly spacious and civilized urban and rural appearance in Hanoi.

In social security work, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels always considers caring for the poor as a key, regular and in-depth task. The "For the Poor" Fund at all levels during its term mobilized over 100 billion VND, supported the construction and repair of 1,510 Great Unity houses, helping thousands of households escape poverty, leaving no one behind.

It is worth mentioning that Hanoi has strongly promoted the spirit of "Hanoi for the whole country - with the whole country", spreading the culture of affection and humanity in the community. To date, the city no longer has poor households according to the multidimensional standard, only 0.04% of near-poor households - a result that clearly demonstrates the effectiveness and sustainability of the movement of solidarity and humanity in the capital.

Entering the 2025-2030 term, in the context of Hanoi implementing a two-level government model and promoting digital transformation, how will the City Fatherland Front innovate its content and methods of operation to both meet the requirements of the new period and be more closely connected with the people at the grassroots level?

- Ms. Bui Huyen Mai: In the new term, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the City has identified the motto "Skying towards the grassroots - Taking the people as the center - Taking the people's satisfaction as the measure of operational efficiency". To meet the requirements of the new era, the Front will focus on strongly innovating the content and methods of operation, linking mobilization and propaganda work with solving practical problems of the people; enhancing dialogue, listening to and consulting with the people in policy making and implementation.

Along with that, the Capital Front will promote comprehensive digital transformation, gradually forming the "Capital Digital Front" - an electronic data platform synchronously connecting the City and 126 Commune-level Fatherland Front Committees, helping the management, operation, supervision, social criticism, grasping public opinion, caring for the people to be faster, more public and transparent. We consider digital transformation not only an inevitable trend, but a new way of operation of the Digital - Modern Front, two-way interaction, closer to the people and for the people.

The City Fatherland Front will continue to be a solid "connector" between the Party, government and people, contributing to promoting the strength of the great national unity bloc, building a civilized - modern - loyal - happy Hanoi Capital, worthy of the trust and love of the Central and the whole country.
