More than 1,000 houses in Lao Cai are supported for repair and construction after natural disasters
Lao Cai - The locality has supported the repair and construction of more than 1,000 houses damaged by natural disasters, helping people in affected areas to soon stabilize their lives.
On December 16, information from Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, as of 4:00 p.m. on December 14, the whole province has deployed housing support for 1,048/1,137 houses damaged by natural disasters in 2025, reaching a rate of over 92%.
According to the report of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, out of a total of 1,137 affected houses, 83 houses collapsed, drifted, or completely collapsed; 373 houses were subject to emergency relocation and rebuilding of new houses; 61 houses were severely damaged and 620 houses had their roofs blown off, damaged from 30% of the roof area or more.
For 1,048 houses that have been supported for repair and rebuilding, 68 houses that have collapsed or collapsed have been completely rebuilt; 306 houses subject to emergency relocation have completed the construction of new houses; 54 houses that were severely damaged have been repaired and all 620 houses with unroofed roofs have been repaired, ensuring living conditions for people.
Currently, the whole province still has 89 houses that have not been supported to build houses, of which, 15 houses have completely collapsed and have land to build; 67 houses are subject to emergency relocation, including 58 houses with land and 9 houses without land; along with 7 houses that are severely damaged and have not been repaired.
Localities have been allocated funding to support houses damaged by natural disasters in 2025 according to the decision of the Lao Cai Provincial Relief Mobilization Committee. The disbursement is being organized according to the progress of housing construction and repair, ensuring the right subjects and regulations.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment continues to coordinate with localities and relevant agencies to strengthen urging and removing difficulties and obstacles in the implementation process, striving to complete support for housing construction for households affected by natural disasters, contributing to ensuring safety and stability of people's lives.
