Lam Dong Red Cross Society supports more than 1,138 billion VND for social security

On December 31, Mr. Nguyen Quang Minh - Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial Red Cross Society - said that the whole province currently has nearly 3,000 Red Cross branches with more than 111,000 members; along with a network of over 38,000 young people and nearly 15,000 regular volunteers.

According to the assessment, the team of members, youth and volunteers of Lam Dong Red Cross have been active in many fields, affirming their core role, being a bridge and an effective coordinating force in local humanitarian activities.

This contributes to improving the quality and effectiveness of the Red Cross movements, making practical contributions to the province's social security, humanitarian work and charity work, Mr. Minh emphasized.

In the 2020-2025 period, the total value of Red Cross emulation movements will reach more than 1,138 billion VND, supporting nearly 7 million beneficiaries.

Notably, it has maintained over 37,000 humanitarian addresses supported by the Campaign "Each organization, each individual is associated with a humanitarian address"; The "Humanitarian Tet" movement supports over 962,000 beneficiaries; more than 233,000 people are helped through the "Humanitarian Month" every year.

Public health care is focused on with more than 1 million poor people being examined, consulted and given free medicine. The voluntary blood donation movement received a wide response, receiving nearly 120,000 units of blood.

Many humanitarian models have been widely deployed such as: Supporting poor fishermen, disaster relief, "Red Cross Rice Cup", "Rearing souls", 0 VND ambulances, charity kitchens, nutritional support for poor and disabled children...

"Many creative and effective ways have become the image and "brand" of the Provincial Red Cross movement, thereby supporting millions of people with a total value of hundreds of billions of VND", Mr. Minh shared.

In the coming time, the unit will promote the application of information technology in developing a network of volunteers, mobilizing resources to ensure transparency and timeliness; at the same time, replicating advanced models, spreading the spirit of sharing for community security.
