Zero-dong vegetable stall for people in flooded areas of Khanh Hoa
Khanh Hoa - After the historic flood, many organizations, businesses and youth forces have implemented support activities such as giving green vegetables and necessities.
In late November, in Dien Lac commune, from early morning, union members, youth and Front officers were present to arrange support booths.
The flowers of green vegetables, sweet and creamy bunches of mustard greens and water spinach are arranged in short rows, creating a simple but warm little market. All are free - a meaningful gift sent to people who have just experienced the days of the fierce flood.
In the wards of Bac Nha Trang and Tay Nha Trang, the "Zero-dong" booths jointly deployed by the Provincial Youth Union are equally bustling.
Dozens of young people in green shirts classified the vegetables into bunches, divided them into plastic bags and gave them to the people.
Some came to receive an old man fighting with a stick, the mother holding her young child, and others had just cleaned up the house after the flood.
Everyone is excited to receive bunches of green mustard greens, bags of carrots, squash - simple things that are extremely valuable in this situation.
According to the Khanh Hoa Provincial Youth Union, on November 26 alone, the program transported 14 tons of green vegetables to serve people in communes and wards of Dien Lam, Dien Khanh, Dien Lac, Dien Dien, Tay Nha Trang and Bac Nha Trang. Vegetable sources include water spinach, collard greens, Malabar spinach, Malabar spinach, potatoes, tomatoes, etc.
Mr. Huynh Huu Phuc - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union - said: "We hope to provide timely support to the people in the period of rebuilding their lives. After the flood, vegetables in the garden were almost flooded, and the supply was scarce.
Therefore, supporting safe and stable green vegetables is very necessary, contributing to reducing immediate difficulties for people. The program will continue to be implemented in the coming days".
Not only mass organizations, businesses also joined hands to support people in affected areas.
On November 26, Anam Group Joint Stock Company (The Anam Group) - the investor of The Anam Cam Ranh Resort - presented gifts to people in Phu Vinh 1 village, Tay Nha Trang ward.
Participating in the activity were Mr. Pham Van Hien - Chairman of the Board of Members of The Anam Group - and the resort management team.
With the support of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tay Nha Trang Ward, the delegation visited, encouraged and presented 200 gifts (each including 10 kg of rice and necessities) to families affected by floods. In addition, some households in special difficulties were also given additional gifts worth 2 million VND.
Previously, The Anam Group also visited and presented gifts to people in Cam Lam commune affected by floods.
According to the plan, on November 27, the enterprise will continue to Dak Lak province to give 500 gifts to people in the old Phu Yen province. The total support budget is more than 500 million VND.
Timely gifts from green vegetable bunches to rice bags have contributed to helping people in flooded areas suffer less in the first days of returning to normal life after natural disasters.
