HUE - Hue City Police donated nearly 1 billion VND to support people and officers and soldiers in provinces heavily affected by storm No. 10.
On October 8, Hue City Police held a launching ceremony to support people and police officers and soldiers of the provinces affected by storm No. 10.
In the four recent storms, storm No. 10 with strong winds of level 8, gusts of level 10 has caused great damage in the North and North Central regions.
At the ceremony, the Party Committee, the Board of Directors and the police representatives of the units simultaneously contributed half a day's salary each, raising about 1 billion VND to support overcoming the consequences and stabilizing the lives of the people and the forces.
Major General Nguyen Thanh Tuan - Director of Hue City Police emphasized that this activity has profound political and social significance, demonstrating the responsibility and noble gestures of Hue officers and soldiers towards the people and police forces of the provinces.
Millions of arms turn to compatriots affected by storms and floods
Consecutive storms No. 8, 9.10 (Bualoi) and floods caused by the storm have killed, left missing, and injured 165 people; many houses and production and business establishments have had their roofs blown off and suffered heavy damage. People across the northern mountainous provinces and the central provinces are struggling to cope with floods and heavy losses in human lives and property due to floods and thunderstorms.
