A meal to express gratitude to the Vietnamese Heroic Mothers

At the small house in Nam Can hamlet, Lai Hoa commune, Can Tho city, the atmosphere in July became cozy and emotional when Lai Hoa Border Guard Station, Border Guard (BDBP) of Can Tho city coordinated with departments to organize a gratitude meal at the family of Vietnamese Heroic Mother (VNAH) Le Thi Hai, whose husband and son both sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

The meal is carefully prepared, simple and full of affection. The soap-shaped meal tray was moved to the altar, where the relatives of Mother Le Thi Hai were being worshiped. The smoke spreads as if connecting the present with the past, a deep gratitude to those who have sacrificed for the Fatherland.

Here, military doctors of the Border Guard Station also examined and consulted medicine for Mother Hai, showing their sincere care from the most intimate things.

VNAH's mother Le Thi Hai emotionally said: "I am very happy today, the children have come in large enough like my own."

Captain Nguyen Quoc Han - Political Commissar of Lai Hoa Border Guard Station - said that under the direction of the Party Committee and the Border Guard Command of Can Tho City, the unit has developed a plan; coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, local departments, branches and organizations to visit and give gifts to policy families, meritorious people, war invalids and martyrs, and Vietnamese Mothers. In particular, a meal was organized to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed to protect the Fatherland.

Mr. Thach Phuoc Tai - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lai Hoa commune, Can Tho city - said that the locality organized many activities to celebrate the 78th anniversary of the Vietnamese War Invalids and Martyrs Day, organized meetings with Vietnamese mothers, meritorious people, and policy families; Coordinated with businesses to organize gift giving to 30 policy families and 30 studious students in the commune.

In addition, it is an annual practice that the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune and socio-political organizations, in coordination with Lai Hoa Border Guard Station, organize a meal to pay tribute to VNAH Mother. Thereby, helping to strengthen solidarity between officers, soldiers, union members, and association members in activities to pay tribute to heroic martyrs and families of meritorious people.
