Female doctor in Hai Phong keeps family peace after stressful shifts

Medical pressure not brought home

More than 20 years of attachment to the medical industry, Dr. Nguyen Thi Huong - Head of the Department of Nephrology - Artificial Kidney, Hai Duong General Hospital (Hai Phong City) is still familiar with stressful emergency cases, severe patients need to be monitored every hour. In her position as Head of the Department of Nephrology - Artificial Kidney, she and her colleagues take care of tens of thousands of patients each year, many critical cases are saved thanks to in-depth techniques deployed right at the hospital.

However, when the hospital door closed, she returned to the role of a wife and mother in a family of four.

According to Ms. Huong, both husband and wife's work is very busy as her husband - Dr. Do Duc Van - is currently working at the Hai Phong City Department of Health. Therefore, the most important thing is not to let work pressure affect the family atmosphere.

Despite being busy with work at the hospital or medical management agency, both husband and wife always give each other timely words of encouragement, considering it as a "spiritual medicine" after each stressful working day.

The family always maintains a regular lifestyle, especially family dinners. This is not only a time for eating and drinking but also a quiet moment for family members to listen to each other, share work, study and life.

It is the frequent presence in those everyday moments that helps members become more attached, creating a solid foundation for the home.

Family is the foundation of all success.

If sharing is the foundation to keep the family fire burning, then the greatest pride of Ms. Huong and her husband is that their two children are both obedient, studious and have many outstanding achievements.

Do Duc Anh's son early showed outstanding ability in Mathematics. He once won a Gold Medal in the Vietnam Young Mathematics Talent Search contest when he was in 6th grade, won the Second Prize at the provincial level for excellent students in 10th grade, and the Third Prize at the national excellent student competition in Mathematics in the 2023-2024 school year.

Duc Anh also participated in the "Road to Olympia Peak" competition, won the second prize in the first quarter, and is also the Head of the Olympia Club of Nguyen Trai Specialized High School. Currently, he is a student at Hanoi National University of Education, achieving an accumulated average score of 3.8.4 - excellent academic results.

Do Nguyen Minh Huong's daughter has achieved the title of excellent student for many consecutive years, always maintaining a spirit of hard study, stability and good awareness in training. The maturity of the children is the greatest joy, and also a motivation for the couple to continue to strive in work and life.

What makes me most proud is the maturity, obedience and effort of my two children. Besides academic achievements, the children are all very obedient and know how to love their families. The obedience of the children and the consensus of the two spouses is my greatest pride" - Ms. Huong confided.

In 2026, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong's family was commended by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor as a typical family of workers, civil servants, and laborers nationwide in the period 2021-2026. This is not only a recognition of her personal efforts in work but also a reward for the whole family that members have nurtured together.

According to Ms. Huong, that reward is a source of encouragement for the couple to continue to contribute to the cause of people's health care, and at the same time raise their children to become useful citizens for society.

Perhaps, for Dr. Nguyen Thi Huong, success in the medical profession is only truly complete when there is always a happy family behind - where all members love, share and add strength for each person to fulfill their role in life well.
