Nghia Lo Trade Union launches campaign to plant 500 green trees to protect the environment
Lao Cai - Nghia Lo Ward Trade Union has just coordinated with Tram Tau Protection Forest Management Board to plant 500 trees in Ban Cong village, Hanh Phuc commune.
On August 6, in the space of the mountains and forests of Ban Cong village still covered in mist, 45 officials, trade union members, forest management and protection forces and people jointly launched a campaign to respond to the program "Each trade union member - one green tree".
Immediately after the launching ceremony, the forces were divided into many groups to transport seedlings, dig holes, plant and reinforce trees in hilly areas. Despite the rugged terrain, wet soil and foggy weather causing many difficulties, the operation was still deployed synchronously, ensuring safety.
During the campaign, the units planted 300 Doi trees and 200 cinnamon trees. These are trees suitable for the climate and soil conditions of mountainous areas, with good growth potential, contributing to improving forest cover, protecting the ecological environment and creating sustainable livelihoods for people in the future.

According to the Organizing Committee, the selection of doi trees and cinnamon trees is not only aimed at greening vacant land but also creating long-term economic value. When well cared for, the planting area will contribute to retaining soil, preventing erosion, regulating water sources and creating forest products, and increasing income for people.
In the process of planting trees, officials of the Tram Tau Protection Forest Management Board directly guide people on techniques for digging holes, placing trees, filling soil and compressing roots according to the correct procedures to improve the survival rate of trees, especially in hilly areas often affected by heavy rain.

In addition to new planting, units also identify post-planting care and protection as a decisive factor in the effectiveness of the program.
Local people will continue to coordinate in monitoring, clearing vegetation, weighing roots, replanting undeveloped trees, and protecting the area of trees from the impact of livestock and unfavorable weather.
The activity also contributes to raising awareness of union members and people about the role of forests in environmental protection, disaster prevention and sustainable development.
Through the program, the message "Each trade union member - a green tree" is spread through specific actions, encouraging each individual to join hands in protecting natural resources.
