Workers excitedly work overtime, waiting to go to the Cong Doan Tet Market
At the end of the year, many workers in Can Tho are busy working overtime to improve their income, expecting bonuses to have a full Tet.
At this time, the working atmosphere in many industrial parks (IPs) across the country becomes urgent. In Can Tho City, to ensure year-end orders, many workers are actively working and ensuring production progress.
Working at Tan Phu Thanh Industrial Park - Ms. Nguyen Thi Den said that thanks to the company maintaining stable orders and salaries, workers are all excited to work overtime, improve their income as well as contribute to celebrating the Party Congress.
To keep up with orders, there are days when I work overtime to go home late, I am tired, but thinking about increased income, I feel happy. If I work overtime regularly, my salary is around 9-10 million VND, the female worker shared.
Having been with the company for many years, as well as productive at work, Ms. Den hopes that the Tet bonus will be good. "Last year I received a Tet bonus of tens of millions, I hope this year is good. With bonuses, I can buy clothes and lucky money for my children and grandchildren this Tet," said Ms. Den.
Similarly, thanks to stable work and a steady salary, Ms. Pham Thi Thu Thuy - a worker at an seafood processing company in Can Tho City is also assured of working. However, this female worker proactively saved her expenses early, to balance the expenses for Tet.
"At the end of the year, from fish meat to vegetables, I consider buying anything at the market. I save not because of deprivation but because I want to proactively plan the cost of shopping for Tet so that my family can be a little more comfortable," said Ms. Thuy.
According to this female worker, every year she and many other workers receive support gifts from the Union at all levels. From there, many workers save some of their Tet shopping expenses. "I always have gifts from the Trade Union at all levels to support me during holidays and Tet. From fish sauce, cooking oil, instant noodles... to cash support we all receive. I also did not rush to go shopping for Tet early because I was afraid of high prices, waiting to go to Cong Doan Tet Market to buy at preferential prices," said Ms. Thuy.
In order to practically care for the lives of union members, workers and laborers, the Can Tho City Labor Federation has issued a Plan to organize the Trade Union Tet Market program - Spring 2026 on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2026.
According to the plan, the main activities will include: Tet Market booth area (from 40 - 50 booths/point) displaying high-quality Vietnamese goods, price-stabilized goods; Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Deng program; 0 VND booth, giving away bus tickets, supporting train tickets for workers to return home for Tet...
The program is expected to be held at 3 locations. Of which, the first phase will be held at An Nghiep Industrial Park, from January 29 to 31, 2026 (December 11-13, lunar calendar). Phase 2 will take place at Tan Phu Thanh Industrial Park, from February 2 to February 4, 2026 (December 15 to 17 of the lunar calendar). The final round will be held at Hau River Industrial Park, from February 5 to 7, 2026 (December 18 to 20 of the lunar calendar).
