Feeling the spring atmosphere at work

During the long Tet Nguyen Dan holiday in 2026, most workers celebrate Tet reunion with relatives and family, or rest and relax after a year of hard work. However, besides that, there are still many workers who leave their families and work throughout Tet due to the specific nature of their work.

In the eastern area of Ho Chi Minh City, some businesses are still operating throughout the 2026 Lunar New Year. For example, Long Son Petrochemical Co., Ltd. (LSP - Long Son commune) operates the factory 24/7 continuously, even during the Tet holiday.

Mr. Ma Nhat Minh - operating staff of Cold workshop, Olefins upstream plant, LSP - said that this is the 3rd consecutive year working at the plant throughout Tet, which means that for 3 years now he has not celebrated spring with relatives and family in Ca Mau.

Mr. Minh said that because he had a plan in advance, he proactively arranged to visit his family before Tet. At the same time, he also has a plan to reunite with his family after the Lunar New Year.

With a sense of responsibility, I am willing to work throughout Tet to ensure the factory operates continuously and safely. Although sometimes I miss my family, I am still happy to receive the attention of the business; at the same time, creating conditions for brothers and sisters from further away to celebrate Tet with their loved ones. The understanding and sympathy of my family also makes me feel secure in my work," Mr. Minh shared.

This year is the first time working through Tet, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Manh - operating staff of Butadien workshop, Olefins upstream factory, LSP - said that the Tet shift has brought many new emotions, a meaningful experience when contributing to work in the special time of welcoming the new year.

My family in Hue has understood and supported me, adding motivation for me to feel secure in my work. I and my colleagues still clearly feel the Tet atmosphere through the decorations and Tet-flavored meals. The concern and encouragement from the company and trade union make the brothers feel warm and connected," Mr. Manh said.

Ensuring fullness, creating a sense of being at home for workers

Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Kulachet Dharachandra - General Director of LSP - said that in the heavy industry, petrochemical plants operate continuously. Therefore, reasonable rotation shifts must be arranged to ensure the plant operates safely and stably. The unit ensures that workers are cared for and treated fairly; always ensuring full regimes and rights of workers in accordance with regulations.

We truly appreciate the sense of responsibility and sacrifice of workers when working during this very meaningful family reunion time," said Mr. Kulachet Dharachandra.

In the enterprise, areas have been decorated, cakes and jams have been prepared, and traditional dishes such as banh tet, cu kieu, gio lua... have been prepared to give employees the feeling of celebrating Tet at home. The company's leadership also visited each department to wish Tet, visit, give gifts, cakes and lucky money at the beginning of spring to encourage and motivate workers' spirits.

In addition, although the labor force is more streamlined, the factory still operates according to strict safety management procedures with a comprehensive monitoring system.
