Ms. Nguyen Thi Luyen (41 years old, from Thanh Hoa), a garment worker, shared: "From the afternoon of September 29, the school announced that my daughter would be off school to avoid floods. I was both worried about going to work and worried that no one would look after my child. The road to the factory is difficult, and if I quit, I will lose my salary. Every time I hear about bad weather, my heart is worried and worried about how to cope.

In a cramped boarding house near an industrial park, Ms. Pham Thi En (45 years old, from Son La) had to urgently raise tables, chairs and items to avoid the spillway: "Just a few hours of heavy rain will cause the boarding house to be flooded, water can flood into the room at any time. Since last night, we have had to move our electronic devices and important items up high. No sleep at night, every time I hear the rain, I wake up to check how much water has risen. Many families in the boarding house also have to move their belongings constantly to avoid damage, making everyone tired and stressed.

Hoa Binh Street - the road leading to the industrial park, many sections were flooded half a meter deep, causing motorbikes to stall in large numbers. Workers are forced to walk or ask the enterprise's truck to be on duty in time.

Faced with these difficulties, the grassroots trade union system has proactively taken action. Mr. Nguyen Long - Chairman of the Trade Union of R Vietnam Technical Research Company Limited, said: " all medical and logistics rooms are arranged on duty at the factory to respond when workers have incidents. All arising issues were handled immediately. At the same time, we increase exchanges with boarding houses to grasp the situation and promptly support when needed, from helping to move furniture to supporting food and drinking water".

The Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue of Phu Tho province has issued an urgent telegram, requesting units to review and reinforce the dykes, prepare rescue forces, and prepare means to evacuate people in dangerous areas, especially boarding houses with a large concentration of workers.

Enterprises in industrial parks are also recommended to strengthen measures to ensure safety for factories, equipment and workers during storms, while preparing flexible production plans to minimize damage.
