Workers look forward to Tet bonuses
After the 2026 Lunar New Year holiday, workers quickly returned to work, stabilized production and began waiting for information about Lunar New Year bonuses in the last days of the year.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chung - Director of Faster Trading and Production Company Limited (Thanh Liet ward, Hanoi) said that on the morning of January 5, 100% of the company's employees returned to work after the New Year holiday.
According to Mr. Chung, the company has nearly 300 employees. To ensure that cadres, employees and workers have a happy Tet holiday, Mr. Chung previously gave his opinion to the departments. In particular, the direct production department has 100% of employees registering to work during Tet, in addition to receiving 200% of salary, it also scores internal fees (spending money, paying at the end of the year). Other parts are flexible and mobile to ensure smooth production.
In Bac Ninh, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hue - a worker at Ha Bac Garment Export Joint Stock Company said that during the recent New Year, she had 1 day off according to regulations (January 1, 2026) and a weekly day off (Sunday - January 4, 2026). During the New Year holiday, she was rewarded by the company with 1 million VND.
"The recent New Year's holiday was only 2 days off, and it was not continuous, so I didn't go anywhere to go, just stay home to rest to recover my health," Ms. Hue said.
After the New Year's holiday, Ms. Hue is looking forward to information about the upcoming Lunar New Year bonus. "There are only a few weeks left until Lunar New Year, I try to work really hard to have a full Tet bonus at the end of the year," Ms. Hue expressed.
In 2025, due to a relative's illness, she had to take a long leave to take care of her. Therefore, although she does not know how many Tet bonuses, she guesses they will not be high. "I hope to have a relatively high Tet bonus so that my family can have a full Tet," Ms. Hue shared.
It is known that to consider bonuses for workers, the company will base on the classification of bonuses for annual production and business results and the level of work completion by month of workers (according to types A, B, C). The company stipulates the 2026 Lunar New Year bonus as follows: Type A: Bonus 14% income in a month; Type B: Bonus 12% income in a month; Type C: Bonus 10% income in a month. The total annual Tet bonus of each employee is equal to the total bonus for the months of the year combined.
According to the decision, the list of Tet bonuses will be completed by January 31, 2026, and the Tet bonuses will be paid on February 12 and 13, 2026. Seojin Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Song Khe - Noi Hoang Industrial Park) also gave workers a Tet holiday on January 1 to 4, 2026. After the Lunar New Year holiday, workers have returned to normal work, striving to do a good job from now until the end of the Lunar New Year to feel secure during the long Lunar New Year holiday.
Mr. Nguyen Son Tung - Chairman of the company's grassroots union said that the grassroots union is holding meetings with employers to propose a 2026 Lunar New Year bonus plan. Basically, the company will still give employees a Tet bonus equal to 1 month of basic salary like every year; it only needs to agree on some other small points, said Mr. Nguyen Son Tung.
