Opening of the final round of the 1st Vinh Long Provincial Workers, Civil Servants and Laborers Sports Festival

On June 26, at the Vinh Long Provincial Multi-purpose Sports Center, the Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation organized the opening ceremony of the final round of the I Congress of Workers, Civil Servants and Laborers, 2026, creating a vibrant emulation atmosphere throughout the province.

The Congress is a practical activity to celebrate the success of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress, term 2026–2031, and at the same time kick off a series of activities to celebrate the 1st anniversary of Vinh Long province's establishment and the Vietnam Trade Union founding anniversary on July 28.

This is the first time the Congress has been held after arranging administrative units and reorganizing the trade union apparatus. The qualifying round took place in 3 regions of Vinh Long, Tra Vinh, Ben Tre, attracting nearly 2,000 athletes from 95 grassroots trade unions, awarding more than 100 prizes.

The final round takes place from June 26-28, gathering 764 athletes from 62 grassroots trade unions and central units, competing in 7 sports including football, volleyball, badminton, pickleball and billiards, creating a lively competition atmosphere.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation Nguyen Phuc Linh emphasized that this is not only a sports playground but also contributes to caring for spiritual life, strengthening the solidarity of union members and workers, creating motivation for emulation in labor production.

Mr. Linh requested athletes to compete unitedly, honestly, and nobly; referees to officiate fairly and in accordance with the law; and civilized cheerleaders to contribute to the overall success of the 1st National Sports Games.
