More than 650 athletes compete at Ninh Binh Workers' Sports Festival

On July 26, the Ninh Binh Provincial Labor Federation organized the opening ceremony of the 2nd provincial workers' sports tournament in 2026. This is a practical activity to celebrate the success of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress, term 2026 - 2031 and the 97th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2026).

This year's tournament attracted 28 teams with 650 athletes from commune and ward trade unions and grassroots trade unions in Ninh Binh province. Participating in the tournament, athletes will compete in 3 sports including volleyball, tug of war and pickleball.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the teams entered the competition in a lively and exciting atmosphere. On the volleyball court, fierce spikes and blocks received the cheers of a large number of union members and workers.

In the tug-of-war event, the teams showed strength, balanced coordination and high determination. Pickleball also created a highlight when attracting many athletes to participate. The matches took place with beautiful balls and exciting score chases.

According to the organizers, the sports tournament not only creates a healthy and useful playground but also contributes to improving the health, cultural and spiritual life of union members and workers.

This is also an opportunity for grassroots trade unions, union members and workers to strengthen exchanges, solidarity, and exchange experiences. Through this, the movement to practice physical exercise and sports continues to spread widely in agencies, units and businesses.

The large participation of athlete delegations shows that the physical education and sports movement among workers in Ninh Binh province is increasingly developing, associated with the spirit of "Healthy to work and produce, healthy to build an increasingly strong Trade Union organization".

Through the tournament, the trade union organization continues to encourage union members and workers to maintain the habit of physical exercise, build a positive working environment, and improve their spiritual life after working hours.

The 2nd Ninh Binh Provincial Workers' Sports Festival is one of the outstanding activities towards the establishment of the Vietnam Trade Union. The activity contributes to creating a vibrant emulation atmosphere among union members and workers, while strengthening the connection between trade union organizations, businesses and workers.
