Dien Bien is bustling wrapping banh chung on the day of Tet reunion

On February 2nd, the Provincial Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) organized the program "Tet reunion - Spring of Gratitude to the Party" in 2026.

At the program, 11 teams from grassroots trade unions (CĐCS) directly under the Provincial Labor Federation, competed together in the Chung cake wrapping and five-fruit tray arranging contest for Tet.

Both contents were conducted at the same time. In the banh chung wrapping competition, 55 contestants representing 11 teams showed off their "hand skills". Accordingly, in 60 minutes, each team must complete 10 pairs of cakes (20 pieces). The cakes not only need to be square but also must ensure quantity and prescribed time.

The five-fruit tray display competition has the participation of 33 contestants. In 60 minutes, the teams creatively and meticulously arranged the fruits to create beautiful works of art.

After completing the product, representatives of each team had a maximum of 3 minutes to introduce the idea, meaning of the five-fruit tray as well as the message sent through the green banh chung.

Ms. Lo Thi Nga - a union member of Tuan Giao Commune Trade Union said: "This is not just a contest but an opportunity for workers to connect with each other more and especially feel more clearly the Tet atmosphere is coming".

At the end of the contest, the Organizing Committee proceeded to score based on criteria on aesthetics, time and meaning of the presentation.

The first prize in the banh chung wrapping contest belonged to the Grassroots Trade Union of Tuan Giao Commune Trade Union. In the five-fruit tray display category, the first prize was awarded to the Grassroots Trade Union of Hoa Ba Education and Service Trading Co., Ltd. (Dien Bien Phu ward).

According to Mr. Tan Minh Long - Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial Labor Federation, every Tet holiday, Spring comes, the "Tet reunion" program has become an annual activity imbued with the imprint of the Trade Union organization, clearly showing the spirit of "All union members and workers have Tet", leaving no one behind.

At the "Tet reunion - Spring of Gratitude to the Party" program in 2026, the Provincial Labor Federation presented 100 gifts and provided support for bus tickets to return to their hometowns for Tet to union members and workers in difficult circumstances. Giving 1,149 electronic and online shopping vouchers organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to union members and workers.

According to a quick report from the Dien Bien Provincial Labor Federation, during the Binh Ngo Tet holiday, care was taken for over 3,000 turns of union members and workers, with an amount of nearly 10 billion VND.
