Vinh Long - The Provincial Trade Union organizes the "Men in the Kitchen" contest, spreading gender equality, sharing responsibility, and honoring women on March 8th.

On March 4, at Truong An Tourist Area (Tan Ngai ward, Vinh Long province), Vinh Long Provincial Trade Union organized the "Men in the Kitchen" contest among union members and workers in 2026. The activity aims to commemorate the 116th anniversary of International Women's Day (March 8, 1910 - March 8, 2026) and the 1986th anniversary of the Hai Ba Trung Uprising.

The contest attracted 64 teams with 192 contestants from affiliated grassroots trade unions, creating a lively and exciting atmosphere from early morning. The large number of participants shows the positive response and sense of responsibility of union members and workers throughout the province.

According to the organizers, the contest is not only a culinary playground but also has practical meaning in promoting gender equality and building happy families. Through directly going to the kitchen and preparing each dish, male union members have the opportunity to better understand the hardships and silent sacrifices of women in each family; thereby raising the awareness of sharing and responsibility.

The judges assessed that the teams had careful preparation, a rich menu, ensuring nutrition and food safety and hygiene. Many dishes were presented beautifully, imbued with local identity. The presentation clearly expressed the message of love, connection and honoring the role of women in family and society.

At the end of the contest, the organizing committee awarded 20 prizes including 1 first prize (belonging to the grassroots trade union team of Cu Lao Minh Regional General Hospital), 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes, 10 consolation prizes and 4 movement prizes.

The contest is an opportunity for union members to exchange, strengthen solidarity, and contribute to enriching spiritual life in agencies and units.
