On the afternoon of November 11, the leader of the People's Committee of An Phu commune, Quang Ngai province, said that he was proposing to reward Mr. Nguyen Thanh Vuong and Mr. Nguyen Sat for their brave actions in saving people in distress.
On the same morning, while fishing near Cua Lo area, An Phu commune, Mr. Pham Hung and Mrs. Do Thi Ha unfortunately had their boat sunk by large waves.
Upon receiving the news, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Vuong - Head of Tan Thanh village - rushed into the whirlwind to save people. However, due to the strong currents, he could not bring the victims to shore.
At this time, Mr. Nguyen Sat - a resident of the same village - used a buoy to swim out to support. Thanks to the timely coordination and brave spirit of the two men and the people at the scene, the couple in distress were brought safely to shore.
