Awarding Nguyen Duc Canh scholarship to 300 students in Ho Chi Minh City

300 scholarships for students who overcome difficulties and study well

Attending the program were Ms. Thai Thu Xuong - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Ms. Do Hong Van - Deputy Head of the Labor Relations Department, Mr. Bui Thanh Nhan - President of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, Ms. Nguyen Kim Loan and Mr. Nguyen Tan Dat - Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, the work of caring for and protecting the legitimate and legal rights of workers has always been of interest to trade unions at all levels. Notably, the Nguyen Duc Canh scholarship program has been organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation for many years.

At the program, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation awarded the Nguyen Duc Canh scholarship at the city level in 2025 to 300 students who are children of direct production workers, union members in difficult circumstances, and those who strive to overcome difficulties to improve their studies. Each gift is worth 1 million VND, 1 health check-up voucher, 1 gift, the total value is more than 2.1 million VND/gift.

Speaking at the program, Ms. Thai Thu Xuong - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor commented that this is a meaningful activity to celebrate the August Revolution, the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union.

This activity has been carried out for 31 years with hundreds of thousands of scholarships awarded. The program contributes to conveying the message to students and workers' children throughout the city, continuing to compete, achieving high academic achievements, daring to dream, striving to realize dreams, contributing talent, contributing to the country entering an era of strong and prosperous development" - Ms. Thai Thu Xuong emphasized.

Seeing their children receiving scholarships, many parents who are workers are happy and moved to tears. Parents shared that the scholarship is a great source of encouragement for their children and helps workers overcome some of the difficulties as the new school year is approaching.

"The new school year is approaching, I am worried about buying school supplies and clothes for my children. I am very happy to receive this award, I will buy new clothes and a bicycle for my daughter" - Ms. Thanh Duyen (Worker in Tan Uyen Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) shared.

Unable to hide her emotions, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet (a worker in Binh Hoa ward, Ho Chi Minh City) shared: "In previous years, due to difficulties, children had to reuse old books and old packs. Now that we have received the Nguyen Duc Canh scholarship, my wife and I are very happy. I will buy a new pair for the children to go to school".
