In recent days, provinces and cities in the Central region such as Quang Ngai, Da Nang, and Thua Thien Hue have been struggling with floods, causing heavy damage in many places. Understanding the hardship, the children of the Central region living in the coastal fishing village of Gia Lai province have joined together to contribute - "a little thing, a lot of heart", and sent their hearts to share the difficulties with the people in the flooded areas.
Since last night, the small house of Ms. Phan Thi Thuy (born in 1978, residing in Nhon Chau island commune) has always been lit up, becoming bustling and cozy. The villagers gathered together, prepared "shore-class" dishes together, packed them and sent them to flooded areas.
Each person has a hand, some wash fish, some fish, some fish, some dried, busy all night to catch each batch of fragrant rice fish - a familiar dish of the island commune people.
"We don't have much, we just hope to give the taste of our hometown to the people in the flooded areas, helping them warm their hearts and overcome the difficult days soon," Ms. Thuy shared.
By this morning, 150kg of dried anchovies had been packaged by islanders and transported to Quy Nhon mainland to send to people in flooded areas.
According to Mr. Duong Hiep Hung, Chairman of Nhon Chau Commune People's Committee, although there are not many materials, the hearts of the people are very precious, clearly demonstrating the spirit of "the healthy leaves cover the torn leaves".
In Nhon Hai fishing village (Quy Nhon Dong ward), the volunteer group of Mr. Nguyen Van Sang and Mr. Tu Hon Kho are busy loading goods onto trucks including tons of instant noodles, milk, drinking water, cakes with life jackets, flashlights and vehicles such as canoes and water motorbikes to prepare to go on the road to provide relief to Hue people.
This is not the first time that Mr. Sang and Mr. Tu Hon Kho's group has taken charity trips. Previously, right after storm No. 10, the group traveled many times to the North Central region, giving practical gifts to people in flooded areas, bringing warmth and humanity from the Gia Lai sea.
Amidst many difficulties, those shared hearts are like a warm fire warming people's hearts, adding faith and strength for the people of the Central region to overcome difficulties and stand firm after the fierce floods.
