The first working session of the Hai Phong City Trade Union Congress for the 2025-2030 term

The 1st Hai Phong City Trade Union Congress for the 2025-2030 term with the theme "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Innovation - Development". At the first working session, the Congress elected the Presidium, the Secretariat and the Delegation of Delegation status review board; approved the Congress's working program and regulations.

At the congress, 100% of documents were digitized, delegates used electronic equipment to look up documents.

At the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Van Quyet - Permanent Vice President of the City Labor Federation presented a summary report on the results of the city's trade union activities in the period of 2023-2025. In the past term, the workers' movement and the city's Trade Union activities took place in the context of many new opportunities and advantages. After the merger, the City Labor Federation managed 2,840 grassroots unions with 641,625 employees and 615,955 union members, reaching a rate of more than 96%.

The work of building trade union organizations and developing union members is a highlight in the period of 2023-2025, the whole city established 660 new grassroots unions, admitted 193,635 union members, and actually increased 93,595 union members. This achievement makes Hai Phong one of the leading units in the country in developing union members, honored to be awarded the Emulation Flag for Excellence by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in 2024.

In parallel with developing union members, the City Trade Union focuses on caring for and protecting the rights of union members and workers. The city's Trade Unions at all levels mobilized nearly 200 billion VND to take care of 314,600 union members in difficult circumstances. The city has 1,682 collective labor agreements with more than 70% of classified B agreements. Many agreements have achieved more favorable commitments than legal regulations such as a minimum wage of 3-5%, probationary salary equal to at least 90% of official salary, 13th month bonus of at least one month's salary, raising the value of shift meals from 20,000 VND or more....

The patriotic emulation movements launched by the Trade Union continue to spread strongly, arousing the spirit of creativity among workers and laborers. The city's workers contributed 6,759 initiatives, of which hundreds of products and topics received the Creative Labor Certificate. Trade union communication work has also made great strides with digital communication channels such as websites, social networks, and the "Huong Cong - Hai Phong Trade Union" application being promoted in efficiency and increasingly high spread...

To clarify the results in the 2023-2025 term as well as contribute to the direction, targets and tasks in the new term, delegates discussed a number of solutions to promote the development of union members and the establishment of grassroots unions in trade union activities; promote the key role of the Industrial Park Trade Union in implementing the Resolution of the City Trade Union Congress; promote the role of the Ward, Commune and Special Zone Trade Union in implementing the two-level local government model; improve the effectiveness of legal consulting activities, support union members and workers during the 4.0 industrial revolution.

The Congress also approved a report on comments on draft documents submitted to the 14th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; a report on the synthesis of opinions on participation in amending and supplementing the Charter of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

On the morning of December 20, the Hai Phong City Trade Union Congress for the 2025-2030 term will continue with a solemn session.
