Mr. Vo Van Nho was appointed as Chairman of the Trade Union of Gia Thuan Commune, Dong Thap Province

Attending the conference were Mr. Hoang Khac Tinh - Permanent Vice President of the Dong Thap Provincial Federation of Labor; Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Gia Thuan Commune Party Committee Nguyen Minh Thong, along with representatives of the People's Committee, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune and grassroots trade unions in the area.

At the conference, delegates listened to a report on the process of establishing the Gia Thuan Commune Trade Union and the direction and tasks for the 2025-2030 term. Accordingly, the total number of grassroots trade unions when received is 06 units, with 5,956 union members and more than 350 workers.

Delegates discussed and agreed on a number of key tasks in the coming time, including focusing on developing union members, building a strong union organization, improving the quality of negotiation and collective dialogue, participating in developing and proposing policies and laws related to workers, and promoting the application of digital transformation in all activities of grassroots unions, contributing to improving the effectiveness of representation, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers.

The conference also voted to approve the summary report on the activities of the Gia Thuan Commune Trade Union, term 2023-2025 and direction and tasks for the term 2025-2030, with 14 main targets and 09 groups of tasks and solutions.

In particular, it identified 02 breakthroughs including: Improving the effectiveness of construction work, proposing policies and laws; focusing on policies to improve vocational skills for workers, participating in building modern productive forces, meeting the requirements of national development in the new era. Promote dialogue and collective bargaining, focusing on contents related to wages, bonuses, working hours, rest hours and occupational safety and hygiene.

Mr. Hoang Khac Tinh acknowledged and praised the efforts of the Gia Thuan Commune Trade Union Executive Committee in quickly stabilizing the organization and proactively implementing activities closely following the local political tasks.

He suggested that the Commune Trade Union continue to innovate the content and methods of operation, focusing on the grassroots, practically taking care of the lives of union members and workers, promoting the representative role in participating in policy and law making and improving professional capacity, adapting new technology for union members and workers - effectively implementing the motto of action "Solidarity - Democracy - Innovation - Development".

The Organizing Committee has announced the Decisions of the Standing Committee of the Dong Thap Provincial Federation of Labor on the appointment of the Executive Committee, Inspection Committee and key positions of the Gia Thuan Commune Trade Union for the 2025-2030 term, in which Mr. Vo Van Nho was appointed to hold the position of Chairman of the Commune Trade Union; at the same time, announced the Decision to allocate 03 delegates to attend the 1st Dong Thap Provincial Trade Union Congress, term 2025-2030.
