Dak Lak - A soldier in difficult circumstances was supported by the trade union, border guards... to build a new house to settle down and make a living.

On August 16, the Dak Lak Provincial Border Guard Command in coordination with the Provincial Labor Federation held an inauguration ceremony for the "Union Shelter" house for Mr. Nguyen Tan Ngoc, a soldier at Ia Re Border Guard Station.

Mr. Ngoc left his hometown of Vinh Long (old Ben Tre) to Ia Ri to start a business in 2004, and his life was still full of difficulties. The wooden house built in the early days of the project has seriously degraded. In 2024, he enlisted in the army and was one of the outstanding young soldiers, always trying to fulfill his mission well.

After more than 5 months of construction, the new house, an area of nearly 78m2 including a living room, 2 bedrooms and auxiliary items, was completed and put into use with a total cost of 250 million VND.

Of which, the Provincial Federation of Labor supported 50 million VND, the rest was contributed by family, relatives and officers and soldiers of Ia Ru Border Guard Station.

Colonel Ro Lan Ngan - Deputy Political Commissar of the Provincial Border Guard - emphasized that the handover of the "Union Shelter" house helps the soldiers' families stabilize their housing and work with peace of mind.

At the same time, it shows the unit's concern for the lives of soldiers, especially new recruits. This is also a motivation for soldiers to stick together and contribute to the cause of protecting sovereignty and national border security.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa - Chairman of the People's Committee of Ia Ru commune - said that the activity of supporting the construction of houses for soldiers in difficulty also contributes to the locality in implementing the goal of eliminating temporary houses, improving people's lives, strengthening the trust and attachment of people to their homeland and border.
