Hanoi City Labor Federation has a new president

On November 14, the Hanoi City Labor Federation (HLVF) held a conference to announce the Decision to appoint and supplement Executive Committee members, Standing Committee members and the position of Chairman of the City Labor Federation for the 2023 - 2028 term for Mr. Nguyen Van Thang - City Party Committee member, Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the People's Council of Chuong My Ward. This is an important event to perfect the leadership personnel of the Capital Trade Union organization, meeting the requirements of the tasks in the new period.

The conference was attended by: Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Ms. Bui Huyen Mai - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City; Mr. Le Dinh Hung - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Permanent Vice President of the Hanoi City Confederation of Labor; Vice Presidents of the Hanoi City Confederation of Labor: Nguyen Huy Khanh, Nguyen Thi Thu Thu Thuy.

At the conference, Ms. Phi Thu Huong - Deputy Head of the Labor Relations Department of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor announced Decision No. 391/QD-TLD dated November 10, 2025 of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on appointing Mr. Nguyen Van Thang to join the Executive Committee, Standing Committee and hold the position of Chairman of the Hanoi City Labor Federation for the 2023 - 2028 term.

Speaking at the conference, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu highly appreciated the working process and outstanding contributions of Mr. Nguyen Van Thang - a cadre who has matured from the grassroots, has been well-trained, has held many important positions and always completed his tasks excellently.

Emphasizing that holding the position of Chairman of the Hanoi City Labor Federation is an honor but also a huge responsibility, requiring courage, determination and a spirit of constant innovation, Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu expressed his belief that with his rich practical experience, innovative thinking and close working style, Mr. Nguyen Van Thang will quickly integrate and start working, promote a sense of responsibility to help the leaders of the Capital Trade Union to fulfill their functions and tasks, while creating a new mark in trade union activities.

In the immediate future, Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu suggested that Mr. Nguyen Van Thang and the collective leadership of the City Labor Federation focus on directing the successful organization of the grassroots Trade Union Congress and effectively implementing activities to care for the 2026 Lunar New Year for union members and workers.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Thang expressed his emotion and honor at being trusted by the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Hanoi Party Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City to take on the responsibility of leading the Capital Trade Union organization.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thang affirmed that this is not only an opportunity to contribute but also a heavy responsibility before the Party, the Trade Union organization and especially before hundreds of thousands of union members, workers, civil servants and laborers in Hanoi city.

Recognizing that the current context is posing many new requirements for the Trade Union organization, Mr. Nguyen Van Thang affirmed that he will always uphold the sense of responsibility, constantly learn, practice, promote the tradition of solidarity, innovation and creativity of the Hanoi Trade Union; at the same time, promote the role of the collective in leading and managing work.

I hope to continue to receive the attention and direction of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi; the close coordination of all levels and sectors; the solidarity and support of the Standing Committee, the Executive Committee of the City Labor Federation and the trust and support of union members and workers in the capital, Mr. Nguyen Van Thang expressed.

In his new position, Mr. Nguyen Van Thang pledged to work with the leadership of the City Labor Federation to concretize the resolutions and instructions of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Hanoi Party Committee into practical action programs; promote patriotic emulation movements; better care for the material and spiritual life of union members and workers; contribute to building the capital's working class to grow stronger, meeting the requirements of rapid and sustainable development of Hanoi - the political, economic and cultural center of the country.
